This activity is to reinforce knowledge of vertical and horizontal transformations of quadratic functions. Students are required to match an equation, graph and point notation. This is a great activity to do before a test, after instruction or for homework as reinforcement of skills for a tough concept!
This document is an assortment of questions related to exponential functions. Questions include exponential growth and exponential decay. This is a group of review questions and will challenge students new to the concept. I suggest using this as a review for Algebra 2 students or Algebra 1 extension.

You always knew your friendship with an eccentric scientist was interesting but you never thought it would lead to this!
Your students will need to use their knowledge of linear functions in standard form,(mainly word problems), x and y-intercepts, literal equations and line of best fit in order to escape the past and end up back in present time.
Each puzzle will require flexible thinking in order to determine the clue. Students will then find the next clue and work on the puzzle. There are 7 total puzzles in all.
We've included some implementation and modification ideas pending on the size of your class and ability level. This does require work on the Teacher planning part but students love it!
If a puzzle answer or clue doesn't work for your classroom, feel free to modify it! You can change one clue and still keep the integrity of the activity and lesson!
The answer key is inherently included as it will need to the next clue!
This matching activity is designed to be practice for students in finding the x- and y-intercepts of a graph and from an equation. Students will have to use critical thinking skills in order to match the three sets. Finding intercepts is a difficult task for students to attain. This practice will help students see the relation between an ordered pair, equation of a line and a graphed line.
This set of 20 linear equation and inequalities task cards requires students to demonstrate the ability to:
- Solve linear equations
- Solve linear inequalities
- Solve word problems involving equations and inequalities
- Determine slope from given points
- Create an equation based on a linear graph
- Graph a linear function from an equation
These task cards are great for a review, test prep, class activity or even homework.

Eight stations requiring students to analyze data and determine if an exponential or quadratic regression is most appropriate. At each station, students will be required to graph the scatter plot. Determine the r-squared value and answer 3-4 questions. This is great practice with regressions.
A scavenger hunt allows students to self check and analyze their own work all while practicing a skill. Students start at any poster, solve the problem and look for the answer around the room. If done correctly, students will end up back at their original poster. This is a great way for total participation for practice and automatic feedback.
In this scavenger hunt, students will analyze polynomials to determine degree, leading coefficient and constants.

A quadratic function take on the classic game of clue! Can you solve the clues to determine the suspect, accomplice, room and weapon?
Students will work through 4 clues:
Your students will use knowledge of finding a vertex, factoring, using the quadratic formula, solving word problems and graphing parabolas. Students will record their answers on their clue sheet to reveal the final solution.
Students are given a cipher to turn their number answers into letters. Cut out both circles and spin the numbers to match the appropriate letter.
Students are also provided a score sheet, just like the game, so they can mark off their final answer. Have them turn in their answers and work to see if they’ve found all the right information!

This scavenger hunt has students convert between mixed numbers and improper fractions. During the scavenger hunt, students start at any poster and convert the question to the other form. Students then look around the room for their answer. Once they've found the answer they solve the question on that poster. If done correctly, they will end up back at the same poster.
This is a great review or practice activity for students. It is self-checking so students can get immediate feedback about their performance, which they love!

This class project is sure to be a hit with any and all of your students! This bundle includes 3 projects in one. All the projects relate around the same idea. Students have been hired as consultants for the Baltimore Ravens, Real Madrid or Monsters University to solve some problems. Students must use the provided data to create a linear regression (line of best fit, least squares equation) in order to determine a correlation coefficient. Afterwards, students identify residuals for each piece of data. After collecting all the necessary information, students are led through questions related to the organization. When I did this in class I gave all three projects and let them choose. The choices were mixed and the students loved that they were able to individualize the days lesson depending on their interests. After students were finished each group received a reporting form. This is the form the "consultants" would hand their employer to summarize their findings. This was absolutely a hit in our class! If you don't want all three I will put each project up individually.
