Here are 34 different pictures of fruit, which are perfect as a PowerPoint presentation, or to be used in a wall display. It comes complete with a 31 Teaching Activity Teacher Guide to help you get the most out of your teaching and this purchase. Each slide is shown twice. The first time, there is the name and the fruit to help students to learn the names of the different fruits. The second time, they play the presenation as a game. They choose a random number from a game menu and name the fruit. They then click on the picture to see the name of the fruit. There are endless ways of using this presentation. If you put the numbers 1 to 34 in a hat and asked the students to write down the names of 5 fruits they saw in the presentation, you could even make this presentation into a highly interactive game of fruit bingo.

Paper Bags Visual Story Prompts - Creative Writing Using All Your Senses

This is a fun creative writing worksheet. The students are simply shown a paper bag with a funny expression on its face. They then need to imagine they are the paper bag and write a story about why it feels like it does. They have to imagine why it is feeling happy, sad, scared etc... using their senses as a cue. What might the bag be seeing, hearing, smelling, touching and tasting to give it the expression it has on its face. This will help the students to become more creative, write more detailed descriptions and organise their work better. This is a perfect way of preparing for the KS1 SATs tests and the KS2 SATs tests. You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different feelings Mr Paper Bag being shown in each of the photos. You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching set of story prompts. The students could also take five of the laminated photos and create them into a story . The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing.

FREE KS1 21 Day Happy Kids Course - Makes Children Happier!

I found a wonderful 21 day happiness course (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/ks2-21-day-happiness-course-for-kids-and-teachers-really-works-11205744), which I personally use daily. However it is not very useful for younger children. I rewrote it, getting the students to think about 4 things which are good in their lives and one moment of happiness from the current day. You would be amazed how hard this is for children to do. By doing this each day, every day for 21 days, picking out the positive and happy moments becomes a part of their every day existence. It has an additional benefit in the fact that this is also an excellent point of time for teachers and children to discuss each day what makes them feel good and what went well on the day. I would recommend this as an afternoon activity. To see examples of my own journals and those of my 6 year old son, please visit my blog at http://www.Barefootbuddies. com. Please leave a comment below to say how it went in your class.

Teaching students how to run or hide in a terrorist attack - Child friendly booklet.

After the Paris terrorist attack, good advice came out from homeland security on what to do if you face an attack. However it was focused on adults and not child friendly. I thought I would create a simple book which explains to children what is now recommended in the case of an active shooter attack. You should however still point out that this is an incredibly unlikely event - but one students now need to be prepared for.

I have developed an idea. Did you know that during your registration period every day, you could be actively making your whole class happier? This could be done in the morning, the afternoon or even better at the end of each day before they go home. All they do is complete this 21 page daily journal on things which make them happy. I have used it and I can say it does make a big difference to how you approach life.

FREE for Science Week - Make Your Own Einstein In My Pocket Model

I would like to celebrate Science week with a little model Einstein the children can make from this really simply kit I have created. I have included the instructions on how I made my Lucky Leprechaun as the ideas are the same, just different colours of clothes and a different face. I successfully had children in Year 1 and Year 2 make these models on their own. If you love what I do, please follow me and also look for more of my fun items in my store.

How to make your own plantable pencil

How to make your own plantable pencil

(0)
I have a dream. I want all pencils used in schools to contain tree or other plant seeds. I want children to use plantable pencils. I have developed my own very cheap, simple plantable pencils which could be made and used in the classroom. All you will require are: Some pasta with a hole in the middle, the width of a pencil School pencil Seeds A school book label which will be cut in half. From these simple resources, you will be able to make a plantable seed pencil. The children can then develop the idea. How can it be improved? How can it be decorated? What are the positives and benefits of such an idea. It is also a great tool for using in science when you wish to get childre to grow things in pots, as the pencil of course makes an instant label. Teachers and pupils who have already tried this have given me very positive feedback. The pencils I am using in the video are 100% recycled paper pencils - but any pencil will work perfectly well.
