This is similar to my previously uploaded film review unit of work (for year 12 general English) This is for my year 11 class. It is slightly more explanatory. THere are three examples of film reviews that students need to read in interrogate. It uses the same ‘Screen Queen’ resources. It also includes a practice film review writing task on the short film Nadia (2017). This short film has some highs (characterisation) and some lows (technical elements) - it’s great for writing a review as students have multiple positives and negatives to discuss. This booklet is accompanied by a PowerPoint (fill in the blanks in workbook, links to YouTube) This took my class 1-1.5 weeks and we spent 1-1.5 weeks on students writing their own film reviews.
