Victims of War - Christianity and Islam AQA

(0)
This resource is aimed at KS4 students studying the new specification AQA GCSE RE. This resource may also be suitable for younger years, but does contain examination content. Included are a variety of discussion questions, use of images, case studies of victims of war, information exercises on both Christian Aid and Islamic Relief, scripture exercises, three tasks and an examination question (including two differentiated variants). My Y11 students loved the variation of tasks and topics of discussion. The content really made them engage and empathise with victims of war (particularly with reference to the refugee crisis). I have also included a arrival activity which I usually provide students with on the door, this is also used at the end of the lesson for the plenary to immediately demonstrate progress.

The main activity involves a scaffolded consideration of Rosa Parks life through a story board. Students will consolidate learning through an evaluation question. I spent two hours on this topic with Y8 KS3 students.
