Ancient Greece / Greeks KS2 Acropolis / Temples / Architecture / Letters / DT

(0)
Looking at famous buildings from around the world, the pupils are hooked into learning about architecture. A letter arrives from the original designer of the Parthenon / Acropolis and explains the process of Greek temple design. Pupils are led through a notebook file of how to research, design and make their own temple and later write replies to Ictarus with their evaluations. An outstanding lesson with images, the letter from the designer, links to good videos etc - all you need (except Greek non fiction books or photocopies of relevant pages from books about temples) to teach background knowledge, engage pupils and teach literacy skills . Includes a notebook file for projecting and leading pupils through the lesson. Part of a full series on Ancient Greeks available either separately or as a full pack at a reduced cost. I have been teaching over twenty years and consistently judged as outstanding.

Ancient Greeks - Battle of Marathon / Persian wars Lesson KS2

Stand alone lesson (part of series also available for download individually or as a set at reduced price). This lesson uses 'Marathon' as a hook and shares various facts about Greek warfare with the Persians, with links and leads on to the task - writing a news report about the Battle of Marathon. Includes a lesson plan and a notebook file for leading the pupils through the learning. The whole series is tested and written by an experienced teacher with experience of leading teaching and learning in numerous schools, as an advisor and judged outstanding over many years. Transition game - end of year - autism - moving on up - secondary school - changing schools

A game for transition for a child who may struggle with change e.g. suitable for pupils with learning difficulties, social and emotional difficulties or Autistic characteristics. I have used this game from Y1 up to Y6 but it works best with Y2 up as the pupils can read the cards for themselves. You can "man up" the cards for Y6 with your school logo with the pictures are or other designs made by the pupils themselves. I used to work as an advisory support teacher, have been a SENCO and am now a learning support teacher overseas in a highly regarded international school. I have recent teaching outstanding experience from the UK so have lots of experience over 25 years in education. Over these many years and jobs I have spent ages developing resources and training. I hope you find this game useful for individuals or groups in your class. Please look at my other resources. When I shared them freely I had over half a million downloads in total. Now I'm coming up to retiring and working overseas, I'm trying to supplement my salary by selling the resources. All pictures are from FreePic Teach2012
