A series of lessons on using trigonometry in right angled triangles to solve problems. Lesson was originally designed for a top set year 9 class so goes from very basic through to more difficult problems involving application of the rules. There are many activities included at the start / throughout / end of the powerpoint to be used when appropriate. These lessons are combination of my own / adapted from other TES users / worksheets. A sequence of lessons on Factorising Trinomials (Quadratics with a co-efficient of x sqd) designed for a high ability KS3 or KS4 group. Whilst reading the Economist I saw a Venn Diagram which illustrated the 4 main political parties policies and so I created a version where the pupils can discuss which policies relate to which political party. I found it useful in Tutor Time to start a discuss around the General Election and it can also be used as an introduction to Venn Diagrams (real life context).

An activity designed around a past exam question on Spearmans Rank Correlation Coefficient. Pupils are given the same question with 4 different answers and asked to choose the correct answer. To extend pupils knowledge, ask them to identify what the mistakes are in the other responses. The question is from GCSE Statistics Edexcel (June 2012) paper. www.goldenmaths.co.uk

An adapted lesson which leads an investigation into the angles in a Quadrilateral. This lesson follows on from previous angles lessons and works well with inquisitive KS3 pupils. A lesson on finding the volume of a cylinder. There is questions included here which I found from another TES user and I have added answers. There is a video I have made which includes a problem with water filling a cylindrical glass. The students have to identify how to find the volume of the glass using their knowledge. A lesson which begins with pupils discovering Pi through measuring circular objects. I have uploaded the worksheet with the examples of objects I used and space for an additional cylinder. This then leads into finding the circumference and area of a circle.
