This Knowledge Organiser (KO) was designed with a mixed Year 5/6 class in mind in preparation for teaching a unit on the Romans plus a series of retrieval quizzes. This Knowledge Organiser (KO) was designed with a mixed Year 5/6 class in mind when teaching the a history unit with a focus on the Second World War whilst also looking at 20th Century History more broadly. Disclaimer: this KO does have a British slant to it and focuses more on the war in Europe than elsewhere. Here are links to video tutorials that @adaubs91] and I made to help pupils learning to use concrete equipment as they get to grips with formal methods for addition and subtraction. These videos are aimed primarily at Lower KS2 but could also be used with pupils who need to work within the concrete stage of formal methods for calculation. You can find all of the Maths tutorials I have created on YouTube on the EducatingHolmes channel. There, you can also find links to other playlists I have created collating a range of videos that I have found useful with my classes. If there are other videos that you recommend using, please let me know so I can can check them out and add them to the playlists!

2016 Sample SATs papers completed with common errors and misconceptions for pupils to mark and explain. Pupils often love playing the teacher, marking the work of someone else, and can often spot errors in another person’s work before they spot it in their own. You can find completed misconception papers from other years here: 2019 2018 2017 2016 2016 (Sample) @adaubs91) and I completed these papers so that most of the answers will be incorrect (based on common misconceptions) or have silly errors which pupils often make. The idea is that pupils mark each question and explain the errors that have been made. We hope these are useful for you and your pupils!
