These Centers help students practice their subtraction skills.

There is a Center card for each Center. There are also 66 subtraction problem cards and 66 answer cards that are used for the Centers. There is a game board in color and one in black and white for one of the Centers. I have laminated the pieces for my class and the students use vis-à-vis markers, which wipe off when they are done. There are 38 pages.
This Tall Tales Unit (81 pages) includes activities for these Tall Tales: John Henry, Annie Oakley, Babe the Ox, Calamity Jane, Davy Crockett, Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind and Slue-foot Sue. The versions of the Tall Tales can vary somewhat, so I made the worksheets so they should be able to be used with any version, including a video version.
There is general information about Tall Tales, Vocabulary Word Wall Word cards for Tall Tales and a section for each Tall Tale story.
For each Tall Tale, there is a cover page (which can be used on a bulletin board), general information about that Tall Tale (although there may be different versions out there), Student Worksheets: Exaggerations, Writing a Letter to that character, a Story Map and a Web. There are additional worksheets: 3 pages of Making Connections between different Tall Tales with characters that are interacted together in their Tall Tales, a page for students to write their Schema about Tall Tales before you start your unit, a K-W-L chart page and 3 pages to help students write their own Tall Tales (pre-writing page, planning page, and writing page)

These cards all involve addition or an equation such as 0=0. Each card has a number sentence on it. Half of them are True and half are False. The students sort the cards by whether the number sentences are True or False. There are different types of addition sentences. (2=2, 1+1=2, 2 + 0 = 1 + 1). These are at a beginning level as the students learn to tell if number sentences are True or False. Thanks!

These cards help students practice counting by 10s, 5s and 2s to 120 (as in the Common Core Standard for 1st grade). There are 6 sets of cards with different clipart to help keep the cards sorted. 2 sets are for students to count by 10s to 120, 2 sets to count by 5s to 120 and 2 sets to count by 2s to 120- one set starts at 1 and one set starts at 2.
I put magnets on the backs of my cards and the students take turns getting them in order on the board.

This is an addition game to practice 2-digit addition. The addition game is called “Race to the Penguin” and includes the game board, Center card and 47 Penguin cards with 2-digit addition problems. The cards include 2-digit problems with and without regrouping (just choose which cards to use with the game). The sums are from 31 to 40.
For Race to the Penguin, you will need to tape the game boards together. Both sides of the game board should have the same numbers. There is an A and a B side for each set. I suggest you laminate these and have the children use vis-à-vis markers (or another erasable marker).
