You can choose which words you want to use. They are all words from the book. There is a Picture Dictionary for the students to make using the vocabulary words from the book. These are great flash cards and papers for students who are learning to solve subtraction problems. This Tall Tales Unit (81 pages) includes activities for these Tall Tales: John Henry, Annie Oakley, Babe the Ox, Calamity Jane, Davy Crockett, Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind and Slue-foot Sue. The versions of the Tall Tales can vary somewhat, so I made the worksheets so they should be able to be used with any version, including a video version. There is general information about Tall Tales, Vocabulary Word Wall Word cards for Tall Tales and a section for each Tall Tale story. These are pages I made to help my class explore the properties of objects (properties such as: hard, soft, wooden, plastic, circle, square, heavy, light). The papers tell the students what to do and has room for them to draw and write what they did. For these activities, you will need 2 bags of objects. Bag A should be a random group of objects including some wooden objects, some plastic objects and some soft and hard objects. I used things such as cotton balls, wooden blocks, pattern blocks, counters, straws, etc. Bag B should include various items that have a circle shape and a square shape. It is done with pink, yellow, orange, green, and teal. It is a very light and fun theme for your classroom. This set includes cards for the word “Calendar”, as well as, for each month. This is a 27 page file of cards with numbers from 1-120 - to meet a First grade Standard. There are random cards with the numbers in black. The other numbers are color-coded to help the children when they represent the numbers with base 10 blocks. The Ones place is green. The Tens place is blue. The Hundreds place is red. I have my students choose a card, which they put on a tray, and then put the base 10 blocks to show that number on they tray. The cards have R2-D2 and C3PO from Star Wars on them. Thank you!
