This booklet is designed to cover four 30 minute sessions per extract and there are six extracts in total.
A booklet which gives pupils a clear structure to answer the 40-mark question on the GCSE exam. Can be used as a unit of work in class (6-7 lessons) or given to pupils to work through at home/as independent work.
Pupils are taken through the structure, one step at a time, with opportunities to practice as well as high-quality models provided.
A proven approach which can be used from Year 7 onwards to support with building effective descriptions/narratives.
A three lesson bundle on the balcony scene.
Lesson one focuses on Romeo's soliloquy and uses Shakespearean scientific theory to extend analysis of key quotations.
Lesson 2 focuses on Juliet's response.
Lesson 3 focuses on comparisons to Genesis and the Bible to really extend students' analysis of this key scene.
Throughout they are encouraged to make links between this scene and the wider play.
A seven lesson bundle that takes students through three poems from the cluster before introducing them to how to compare them successfully in the exam.
The comparison lesson focuses on Ozymandias and My Last Duchess but either could easily be substituted for Charge of the Light Brigade as they are all themed with the question that is looked at.
A complete scheme of work based on the AQA 1-9 exam but very easily adaptable for all boards.

Please see my reviews for the balcony scene lesson - this lesson is included within this scheme.
A 6 week, fully resourced scheme of work on Animal Farm. Would be suitable for Year 7 or Year 8 pupils - easily differentitated up for Year 9.
The scheme starts by building key skills such as inference and writer’s intention, before moving on to some context and the novella itself.
Detailed PPTs begin with a ‘do now’ activity (all questions based on core knowledge and vocabulary rather than plot) as well as introducing a tier-2 key word which is relevant to the lesson. There are a range of activities, differentiated (structure strips and differentiated resources included) and every lesson ends with an exit ticket.
A selection of my most popular Romeo and Juliet lessons. Students are encouraged to make links between the play and the Bible in some lessons - great for higher ability students.
