The Middle Passage
Lesson planned for KS3 unit.
Pupils take part in a 'destroy that source' activity in order to tackle inferences and accuracy. They then tackle a usefulness question using a support grid.
Who killed William II?
Lesson developed as part of the AQA 9-1 GCSE.
Can easily be adapted for KS3 or other exam boards.
Shell Shock
Lesson is targeted at year nine unit on WWI.
It follows the story of Harry Farr and aims to develop an understanding of the wider issues involved with shell shock.
Cholera
Lesson targeted towards new AQA GCSE (9-1) as part of the Britain: Health and the People unit.
Lesson explores the impacts of Cholera.
Black Death & Peasants' Revolt
This lesson is a final lesson in a KS3 scheme on the Black Death and the Peasant' Revolt.
Context on the two topics will be required. This lesson will then allow pupils to test which event was most significant using the significance bowling alley from SHP.
Slave Life
Lesson targeted at KS3.
Lesson uses online resource in order to develop an hour-by-hour overview of the life of a house slave and a field slave.
Pupils then use a clock-graph to analyse who had the harder role.
Lesson ends with pupils using the information to write a diary extract.
The Black Death
KS3 lesson on the consequences of the black death with a usefulness question and support strip.
Could easily be adapted for KS4 consequences lesson as part of AQA GCSE History 9-1 course.
Black Death and Peasants' Revolt Assessment
Designed as a KS3 assessment for a unit which compares the significance of the Black Death and the Peasants' Revolt.
The assessment uses GCSE Assessment Objectives mapped back to KS3 and is split accordingly.
Slave Sale
The lesson is targeted at KS3 and requires pupils to consider the difference between an auction and a scramble.
Lesson includes source work (A03) and asks pupils to complete a short piece of writing on similarities and differences (AO2).

The lesson covers successes/failures of the league during the 1920s and also covers the Locarno Treaties and the Kellogg Briand Pact.

The exam question activity will require pupils to spot content inaccuracies and literacy inaccuracies before guessing the question using the question stems. Pupils then answer the question.
