Hi there! I'm both an English and Geography teacher in London. I am currently working in an Outstanding school which is my second Outstanding school of my career in London after teaching in both Ireland and the Middle East. My resources are both English & Geography resources where I like to give the student an active role in their learning. It is done by many activities such as Q&A sessions, exercises, group/pair-work and many others.

An interview lesson for a mixed ability group of year 7 students introducing them to the poem. The lesson opens by tapping into students’ initial thoughts of what things they do during Half Term Break (Mid Term Break). This, similar to the poem allows the students to empathise with Heaney through analysis of the poem through Q&A discussion and a main exercise which asks students to find poetic techniques.

Advertising PowerPoint for Year 7's to give them an insight into some of the techniques used within advertising. The lesson includes going trough the basics such as terminology and also embedded YouTube clips embedded showing certain TV advertisements which can be used for Q&A sessions. You can choose your own logo's for the final pair exercise depending on your class.

This is a full scheme of work unit I created for ‘Of Mice and Men’. The bundle includes everything you need including a 40 page SOW and also 20 PowerPoint lessons. Each lessons have a structure of a ‘Do Now’, Think-Pair-Share, Information, Main Task and Plenary along with others. The 40 page SOW is a detailed description of each lesson and can be used as a guide. By buying as a bundle it saves you over £30!! The bundle only allows 20 resources. The other 4 resources are close marking exams and feedback sessions which are found on my page for free. These are templates but you can edit them to your needs.

This resource is part of a lesson I had for an inspection where we focused on Dickens’ portrayal of Fagin. This extracts focuses on Fagin’s final scene. This exercise can be done in pairs or individually. It is also differentiated to higher and lower to allow all students to access it. Before studying Benjamin Zephaniah’s poem ‘Good Hope’, it is important to get a sense of what the students believe in. In the poem, Zephaniah repeats the phrase ‘I believe’ and this lesson is an opportunity for students to think about what they strongly believe in. This can be part of a wider writing project or as a way of getting students prepared for some of the topics in Zephaniah’s poem. The PowerPoint asks students questions to give them more ideas before they write on a planning sheet for what they believe in entitled ‘I Believe’. The lesson is cross-curricular as it asks students to think of their Option Choices for Year 10 and what job they would like to do in the future. This is the first of 24 lessons on the scheme of work I have created. This gives students knowledge of the context by finding information on ‘The Great Depression’ and what life was like during this time. The lesson starts with a ‘Do Now’ for students to test their prior knowledge on words that will relate to context. The lesson then has a think-pair-share task before answering a series of questions from videos (links in PowerPoint).
