As the exam season is approaching fast, we are delighted to offer you this verb challenge activity, using the passé composé.
The first 2 pages contain grids of French, using the first person (84 verbs in total). The second 2 pages contain the same verbs in English. However, as both sets are in alphabetical order, they are not mirror-images of each other.
Below is how we have used the activity with our students.
distribute the French sheets to students, individually or pairs/small groups
give them a time limit to identify as many as possible
then give them the English sheets and get them to fill in the missing verbs, using a different colour pen - this way you can see how many they got in both stages
get them to create sentences using the verbs.
Here is a Spanish quiz / matching pairs activity, if you are looking for something to do at the end of term. It is based on identifying items in and around the house, from clues. You can use it to build your students’ speaking/listening skills, and it can be used collaboratively or as a little competition. It would suit a good year 9 class upwards, as dictionaries could be used.
The pack consists of a quiz sheet (2 x 25 items), and flashcards in Spanish and English.
