The learning objectives of the lesson are: To learn about the river basin management of the River Tees To learn about the human activity around the River Tees The lesson has a number of activities including: A keyword wordsearch starter, slides on Cow Green Reservoir (and Dam), the Yarm Floodgates, the Mandale Loop and the Tees Barrage. There are also slides on human activity including fishing, watersports and industry. This lesson was designed to help students to create mind-map about the various strategies and activities. This mind-map could be completed on an A3 sheet of paper - or in their books - and they use the information from each slide.

This is a PowerPoint resource with 2 matching differentiated worksheets for a middle to top group year 7 class. The learning objectives of the lesson are (a) to understand how height is shown on a map, and (b) to produce maps showing height. This lesson includes a video, images and explanation, as well as a resource to build a 3D hill using cut-out contours which can be printed and built in class.
