A set of 3 lessons which are an introduction to War Poetry for Year 7. Includes a range of starters and plenaries as well as opportunities to develop thinking around the ideas connected to war. Also introduces techniques for the analysis of unseen poetry through looking at the lyrics of songs. Has been used with the whole range of Year 7 Students including SEN as easily adaptable.

All the resources needed for 30 lessons including lessons on contextual information as well as opportunities for knowledge based starters, extended essay style responses, assessment, Oracy, peer and self-assessment and challenge tasks. All lessons are in four parts and include links needed to some video clips. Explicit links made to GCSE style questions. The lessons are suitable for Year 9 or can be easily adapted for higher ability Year 8. The SoW also includes suggestions for homework tasks.
