This worksheet teaches that an adverb is a word that describes a verb, adjective or another adverb. It has a clear visual which teaches that there are 5 different types of adverbs: time (when?), place (where?), manner (how?), frequency (how often?) and degree (how much?) This worksheet has a range of sentences (written in cursive joined handwriting). The worksheet explains that the child needs to underline the adverb and tick whether it is a verb of time, place, manner, frequency or degree. My class really enjoyed this resource and understood it well.

Throughout this term, children will be making anderson shelters, gas masks as well as cooking rations, writing (and posting!) letters home, making posters and celebrating victory in Europe with their very own VE day. A series of art lessons based around Van Gogh. Children will use wax crayons, poster paints, colour mixing, shading, pastels, printmaking, marbling and batik throughout this topic. Included is also a knowledge organiser.

During this project, children will be designing their own chocolate product from start to finish. After carrying out market research, they will choose their target audience. They will then generate many ideas before finalising a brand name, logo, slogan, product and USP (unique selling point.) With this in mind, they will then create a final design for their product’s packaging. Once the product has been created (and tasted!) they will complete an evaluation of it.

A brilliant resource for children to apply their learning of 2D shapes. They need to choose a colour for each shape on their key and then colour in the 2D shapes accordingly. The worksheet address regular and irregular shapes. The children really enjoyed this activity and this was a great way to demonstrate their learning.

An engaging activity where children must complete the addition calculations using the column method to crack the code. The code is an answer to a joke. I have created three different versions of this to allow for easy differentiation in the classroom. Version A: Adding 2-digit numbers without carrying Version B: Adding 2-digit numbers with carrying Version C: Adding 3-digit numbers with carrying

Children must go on a word hunt (around the classroom or in reading books) to find contractions. They must sort the contractions they find in this grid based on the second word.

An activity where children can apply the learning of adding the suffix -ly.

An engaging activity where children must find the fractions of amounts to crack the code set by Detective Denominator. I have created three different versions of this to allow for easy differentiation in the classroom. Version A: Finding unit fractions of amounts less than 40. Version B: Finding unit and non-unit fractions of amounts less than 40. Version C: Finding non-unit fractions of amounts less than 90.
