2.1.1 and 2.1.2 Assessment A selection of MCQ and short answer questions for use at the beginning of teaching Theme 2. 40 minute, 36 mark assessment which students should be able to start self-assessing in class to reduce marking. Can be used in conjunction with the Personal Learning checklists, to indicate students current understanding of each theme at the beginning of the year.

The Changing Landscape of Business Powerpoint with activities for a lesson based on the changing landscape of business. Include quantiative skills development with a graph activity to demonstrate the changes to the different industrial sectors over time. Can also be used to introduce the concept of % change that students on this new specification have to learn. My students are now starting to remember % change calculation to be DDO (difference, divided by original) - we are using repetition to retain this one!

Whole lesson based on break-even and Bob’s Burger business. Calculate total fixed and variable costs, before completing a spreadsheet of revenue and total costs to produce a break even chart. Exam style questions then follow to support learning. Independent task, with stop and review points allowing students to work at their own pace.
