I cover Ofsted and accountability, edtech and AI, teacher training and continued professional development (CPD), and curriculum.

Ofsted’s series of reforms have been a consistent area of my coverage since I joined in 2023. This includes monitoring the impact of the latest inspection framework, reporting on headteacher concerns over revised evaluation areas, and holding the government and Ofsted to account on its delivery of the reformed system.

I closely follow the government’s expansion of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in schools. We have broken stories such as the DfE rolling out AI tutors for pupils, highlighted teachers' fears over under-16s social media access, and revealed that major tech companies are building chatbots for teachers.

I have also held the government's feet to the fire with its pledge to recruit 6,500 new teachers, revealing delays to its plan, and scrutinising official research suggesting schools already have enough teachers.
