I have been a German and English teacher for more than 12 years now. And I love coffee breaks ☕️. Coffee is just great. Over the years I have realized how much my students benefit most from lessons where THEY are the leaders, where THEY are encouraged to be proactive and learn from each other. Handing over the reins to my students doesn’t make me weaker as a teacher. It makes them responsible for their own learning and is highly motivating. I don’t want my students to be sailors. I want them to be CAPTAINS! (And I want coffee!) My teaching resources are all designed to enable students to USE the language. This is why you will always find the communicative approach in my resources - even simple crosswords come with ideas for speaking activities. All of my resources have been tested in class and will be updated regularly. Please rate my resources to help me build a reputation among millions of resources. Double Worksheet - Describing Pets / Animals - Physically + Personality +

Double Worksheet - Describing Pets / Animals - Physically + Personality +

This can be done in class or as a homework (for sharp learners) and presupposes acquisition of vocab for pets, physical description, personality and also a few clothes (&colour) . It showcases the use of some longer sentences with conjunctions UND and ABER. The longer gapfill tasks offer a decreasing level of support and the last writing task is merely providing a picture prompt. (i.e. the task requires "free writing")

Double Worksheet-Where do you live and where do you come from

Used after having introduced " Wohnen" and practiced types of accommodation and areas of living (auf dem Land, an der Küste, etc.) . This worksheet requires an eye for detail and relies on pupils using their other notes for reference. Pupils can tackle these on their own or in pairs (by way of differentiation) It also revisits pets and members of the family. It also practises "kommen aus", since several of my students live in one country, but come from another one.

Echo Express 1 Module 3 Vocabulary Matching Exercises

These simple yet versatile matching exercises are made from the vocabulary used in module 3 of Echo Express 1. They can be used as starters, extensions, plenaries, homework and revision. They are also great for measuring progress when used as a starter and a plenary in the same lesson. They can also be colour-coded / traffic lighted to provide instant feedback as well as a focus for assessment revision. I always let pupils choose whether they want to write the answers in in English or the Target Language. Matching with lines never works! I have had great feedback from pupils when using them and hope you will too. Please let me know if you find typos / mistakes.
