Key Stage 3 Spanish - Where I live - New GCSE-style activities

This 58-page workbook (including answers) contains new GCSE-style reading, writing, speaking and translation questions for Key Stage 3 students. The booklet contains activities on the topic of ‘home, town, neighbourhood and region’, from the AQA theme Local, national, international and global areas of interest. There are 6 subtopics: Type of house, rooms in the house, bedroom furniture, places in the town, clothes and shopping, and my ideal town. For each of these subtopics, there are 6 activities: a reading task, translation (short paragraph) from Spanish into English, sentences to translate from English into Spanish, a writing task (short passage similar to the foundation writing exam), a photo (like in the foundation writing exam) and a role-play. There are also 6 extension activities which bring together all of the subtopics: a longer reading task, a paragraph translation from English into Spanish, a 90-word writing task, a 150-word writing task and a photo card (like in the speaking exam). This booklet can be used in KS3 or for revision in KS4 (foundation). It can either be used to supplement work in lessons as you teach the topics of technology and free-time, or for assessments. It could also be set as cover work, as the answers are included. A free sample of the booklet is available here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/key-stage-3-spanish-types-of-houses-new-gcse-style-activities-11960410

Unit 1 Everyday life at home and school (Section A) - Edexcel International GCSE (9-1) Spanish

Unit 1 Everyday life at home and school (Section A) - Edexcel International GCSE (9-1) Spanish

This resource includes a 151 slide ppt presentation I prepared to teach the new Edexcel International GCSE 9-1 for my Year 4 group. As the textbook isn’t great, I created many extra resources to combine with working on the textbook. What’s included: resources for Unit 1: Everyday life at home and school, which at the same time includes activities for section: 1A House and Home --> 1A.1 Donde vivo yo; 1A.2 Esta es mi casa; 1A.3 Que haces en casa; 1A.4 Las habitaciones de mi casa. It comes with two extra reading activities I made up to extend my students, two versions of vocabulary tests to be done at the end of every-subsection, and overall a good range of activities that train the 4 skills, and grammar. I have also attached the list of vocabulary provided by the textbook for the Unit 1 Everyday life at home and school, corresponding to sections 1A to 1D, ALREADY FILLED IN WITH THE TRANSLATIONS for students to use as revision if you dont want to spend time from the lesson/homework to get them to write them down. I have different bundles available on my profile for the next sections: 1B School life and routine, 1C Food and drink, 1D Common ailments and healthy lifestiles.

Viva GCSE Module 5 Punto de Partida 1 & 2

Viva GCSE Module 5 Punto de Partida 1 & 2

Lesson and resources based on the new Viva GCSE AQA Spanish textbook - Module 5 Punto de partida. This unit covers places in town and giving and understanding directions. The lesson includes exercises from the textbook alongside some activities that I have also added - starter activity of recapping places in town, vocabulary sheet, transcript gap fill activity, directions vocabulary sheet and speaking activity. There is a PowerPoint which has descriptions and timings of each activity under each slide - it is all set up so that you can just open it and teach. As we are quite short of time I have created a worksheet and vocabulary sheet for Punto de partida 2 as opposed to a full lesson. The vocabulary sheet involves matching up the English and Spanish vocabulary for the Punto de partida 2 unit and the worksheet involves some reading and writing activites taken from/based on the Viva GCSE Punto de Partida 2 unit. The worksheets could be set as homework in order to save lesson time. Word documents have also been saved as PDF files just in case formatting is altered when opened at school.
