Read out handout - Meet Bob Cratchit! Go through the spellings as a group. Students complete the sentences in handout using the spelling words. Discuss the creative writing prompt. Brainstorm students' ideas. Students write about their own response to the writing prompt. Students draw what they have written about. Further lessons will be available to cover the rest of the scheme of work.

Intervention Sheet by @TeacherToolkit

Intervention Sheet by @TeacherToolkit

This document enables teachers to understand how support fits in with the specific area/s of SEN it is targeting. It has helped to give our interventions greater focus; I encourage teachers to look at their record sheet before each lesson as way of focusing in on the young people. It is also a beneficial tool for sharing information with senior leaders. Staff who are responsible for writing SEN Support Plans can also find it beneficial to use the information on the intervention records to add depth to their plan so that they can write about interventions they do not lead with confidence.

Self Awareness Activity for KS3/4

Self Awareness Activity for KS3/4

This Self Awareness Activity allows students to think about how their feelings contribute to their own actions, and how this may affect the people around them. This indirectly links to the following objectives from the Citizenship Programme of Study: KS3 - the ways in which citizens work together to improve their communities KS4 - the different ways in which a citizen can contribute to the improvement of their community However most importantly, it equips students with the skills to effectively manage their feelings and emotions. Which in turn will allow them to contribute to the betterment of their community, and become successful and happy members of society.

Lesson template

Lesson template

This is a resource I created in response to very anxious learners. Seeing the passing of time and making it rich with reward can calm children. This intervention used over a period of time (lengthening the work times slowly and in response to the child/children) can get them to working independently. I have used this with whole classes, small groups and individuals
