This lesson is a quick lesson that is designed to give pupils an introduction to political ideology at A2. This can be adapted to suit GCSE as well as AS level. The lesson contains hyperlinks to exam examples and extension reading tasks. Also, there is a brief lecture aspect to the presentation which looks at the history of ideology. There is also a worksheet that accompanies this lesson. This worksheet is easily adaptable for differentiation which can be done by the teacher tailoring it to their class. Set at the lowest available cost to reflect that differentiation needs to be done by the downloader and there is not a lesson plan (which is a separate document to the PPT) that accompanies this resource.

This is a complete lesson about the Feminist Theory of Religion. This covers the essentials of what must be covered for the A Level exam with AQA Sociology and there is plenty of room left to add sociologists that are in line with your personal subject knowledge. The lesson package has a fully adaptable lesson plan, powerpoint, differentiated worksheet and mini activity ideas. It is adaptable for GCSE lessons by changing wording, and removing the evaluative task at the end; however, this is aimed at A Level students at all grades. This is a full lesson that includes all the activities, a lesson plan, differentiated material (both for weaker and stronger students) and helps go through content of theories of family in the context of an essay question. There’s plenty of assessment for learning throughout. This lesson was successfully deployed several times as a 20min mini teach (this is reflected in the lesson plan) but has been planned and produced as an entire lesson. The theories included are New Right, Feminism, Functionalism and Marxism. There’s information sheets and structured worksheets for note taking and there is also a university journal for gifted and talented students relevant to the material. This lesson is an observable lesson in social stratification; looking at areas of gender, age, ethnicity and class. The lesson assumes a basic level of sociology is already obtained by pupils - e.g. socialisation, society etc. The worksheets are included, one of which is a differentiated sheet to help structure the notes for those that struggle with writing. Stretch and Challenge is included within the lesson, along with 'creativity across the curriculum' - which can help hit some targets. The lesson will track progress throughout, there is an examination style question with a mark scheme at the end which can be gone through orally. Sociology GCSE - Social Inequality This is a full lesson on the beginning of the social inequality topic. It covers the sociological perspectives and also identifies social class classification scale. By the end of the lesson, students will understand these topics. I personally used this for an observation lesson and was only required to add more stretch & challenge - to do this, I suggest using an A Level text book or a sociological journal on the topic area.
