This is a complete lesson about the Feminist Theory of Religion. This covers the essentials of what must be covered for the A Level exam with AQA Sociology and there is plenty of room left to add sociologists that are in line with your personal subject knowledge. The lesson package has a fully adaptable lesson plan, powerpoint, differentiated worksheet and mini activity ideas. It is adaptable for GCSE lessons by changing wording, and removing the evaluative task at the end; however, this is aimed at A Level students at all grades. This also has a good overlap with Religious Studies and has adaptable parts. It is suggested that you place students into pairs at the start of the lesson as there are several group tasks. This lesson goes through definitions of religion, introducing sociologists to A2 students that research into this area. There is an extended amount of sociologists included here which are not included on the specification, as well as those that are included. By the end of this lesson, pupils will be able to articulate the different definitions of religion and link them to sociologists that proposed them. Equally, students will be equipped to make their own definitions and have an in-depth knowledge of Ao2 evaluative points about definitions of religion.

This writing frame was created to help students that struggle to structure an essay at AS/A2 level. It provides a scaffolding with brief instructions about what should be done next in the essay. It was designed with AQA syllabus but would easily transfer to other exam boards when essay questions are used. It's fully customisable and can be changed as you see fit. It works exceptionally well with U-D grade students that need to bump up their grade; it has been tried and tested and works well with these students.

This is a full lesson that includes all the activities, a lesson plan, differentiated material (both for weaker and stronger students) and helps go through content of theories of family in the context of an essay question. There’s plenty of assessment for learning throughout. This lesson was successfully deployed several times as a 20min mini teach (this is reflected in the lesson plan) but has been planned and produced as an entire lesson. The theories included are New Right, Feminism, Functionalism and Marxism. There’s information sheets and structured worksheets for note taking and there is also a university journal for gifted and talented students relevant to the material. This lesson is an observable lesson in social stratification; looking at areas of gender, age, ethnicity and class. The lesson assumes a basic level of sociology is already obtained by pupils - e.g. socialisation, society etc. The worksheets are included, one of which is a differentiated sheet to help structure the notes for those that struggle with writing. Stretch and Challenge is included within the lesson, along with 'creativity across the curriculum' - which can help hit some targets. The lesson will track progress throughout, there is an examination style question with a mark scheme at the end which can be gone through orally. This lesson is fully customizable and can also be seperated into two lessons (depending on length of allocated time). The first part of the lesson covers the Sociology AS Research Methods AQA Spec looking at Experiments whilst the second part looks at surveys and sampling in the same spec. There are two worksheets attached to this lesson which can be used to help pupils structure notes. Sociology GCSE - Social Inequality This is a full lesson on the beginning of the social inequality topic. It covers the sociological perspectives and also identifies social class classification scale. By the end of the lesson, students will understand these topics. I personally used this for an observation lesson and was only required to add more stretch & challenge - to do this, I suggest using an A Level text book or a sociological journal on the topic area.
