A fully resourced unit of work for Year 7 Food and Nutrition. 6 Practical lessons and 6 Theory based lessons. Each lesson has a full powerpoint with starter, main and plenary. Practical lessons have the recipe and method included in the powerpoint. Theory lessons focus initially on Hygiene and safety, followed by an introduction to the Eatwell Gudie and nutrition. Worksheets and helpsheets included where activities need them. Planned for one hour lessons - all recipes trialled with classes and paired/adapted to suit the time limit.

Practical lesson for students to familiarise themselves with and investigate a range of cooking methods. Focus is on the sensory analysis of the products base don cooking methods and to introduce the analysis of healthy/unhealthy cooking methods. Ideal for Hospitality and Catering course, can also be used for KS3 or KS4 Food and Nutrition courses. Product made was meatballs through a practical investigations - method sheets are part of the second part of the powerpoint and were printed for use. Includes use of QR code videos for support.

A one page format including a range of tasks for students to complete over the summer to keep the subject knowledge from Year 10 fresh, extend and consolidate understanding and begin to consider some starting points for the NEA contexts. Set over a 30 days challenge style- one task a day! Has been written based on AQA content but could be used with other exam boards - have included both a PDF and a Publisher file so that own questions or tasks can be added in.

A whistle stop lesson to introduce the topics of Smart Materials, Modern Materials, Composite Materials and Technical textiles for the 9-1 AQA D&T Specification. Includes information slides on each material topic and exam questions from sample papers or past papers to appy the knowledge.

A lesson suitable for the new specification GCSE AQA D&T. Linked to exam board practice sample exam papers and sample questions. Lesson is based around analysis or evaluation of a range of different products against specific features (Aesthetics, Ergonomics, User suitability). Group/paired task (with worksheet provided at the end of the powerpoint). Individual exam-style question task and self assess task.

A powerpoint lesson to introduce or re-cap the main methods of production. Suitable for use for legacy specifications in D&T (Product Design, Textiles etc.) and also as part of the new D&T 9-1 Specification. Written for AQA specifications, could be adapted to others. Objectives: List the main methods/types of production Identify the methods of production used for different products Compare methods of production – advantages/disadvantages Information slides as well as student task - advantages and disadvantages and identifying products.

Teamwork lesson to divide a revisit the 3 topic areas of the Processes and Manufacture section resulting in writing of own exam questions and testing each other. Includes; Powerpoint to guide the lesson and tasks Information sheets with specification information and links/key words QR code display sheets with links to videos and information (one link is for GCSEPod which will require log in, but all others are available for all) Photos of the mind-map task with QR codes used in my own lesson (we used window pens and wrote on the glass but could also be done on large paper or on tables instead)
