This lesson was designed for a high ability Y6 class who were exploring a topic on Rivers and Flooding. It would be suitable for KS3 students also. In this lesson students explore the key features of the upper, middle and lower course. You will need to print off a large versions of the powerpoint slides so that students can use them on their information hunt. My students really enjoyed this lesson. Hopefully it will save you some time. All images acquired through a search engine filtered to labelled for re-use. Enjoy :-)

Has that pile of books been sitting on your desk for over a week? Why not print out some stickers and get sticking! I use a range of stickers to encourage student feedback. It’s an excellent way to save some time but also encourage a dialogue. Credit to A. Wilkes for inspiration. You will require various label size papers but there are some standard envelope ones. Sticker sizes include: standard address label, 25x25, 64x64 and others. Comments are appreciated. This paper can be purchased online and put into any printer. Comments are appreciated. Images are taken from Microsoft Office Clip-Art collections and used in line with MS policy. Enjoy!

Christmas Through Time Activity Booklet: Bumper Pack.

It’s always nice to give your students something Christmassy to work towards as it gets closer. I’ve updated this resource due to it’s popularity. This 10 page booklet can be printed in colour or black and white. Students can work through the different activities suggested in one go or once a week. I’ve used these resources with different ages but it would work best for lower secondary or primary school. The resources tell the Christmas story, look into traditions today and explore how Christmas was celebrated in the Tudor and Medieval period. The additional Powerpoint may also be used for other activities. Comments are appreciated. Images acquired through a search engine filtered to labelled for reuse.

1066 Battle of Hastings Tarsia Revision Puzzle

This Tarsia puzzle covers the broad theme of 1066. This includes the reason why people were push and pulled to England up to the Battle of Hastings. I made this tarsia to allow students to revise a classic Battle of Hastings assessment. Could be used for GCSE specs if required. A Tarsia puzzle requires students to match up sides of triangles to form a hexagonal shape. They are brilliant for revision and get students to think hard. I use these at the starts of ends of lessons and they can take 10-20 minutes depending on your class's confidence in the material. All materials are provided here including student instructions, student puzzle pieces and teacher answers. All images have been acquired through a search engine filtered to labelled for re-use. The resources are designed for one lesson lasting one hour. My students all have their own copies of Tillbrook’s The Tudors: England 1485-1603 by Oxford University Press, this is sometimes referred to. The first lesson will require the red SHP textbook "Re-discovering Britain 1500-1750" page 86 for the main task. Otherwise all required sheets are attached. Comments are appreciated.
