This fun and intellectually challenging unit of 10 lessons was created by an entrance examiner of a pestigious London school to help students prepare for the writing element of their 11+ Entrance Examinations.

Students will be exposed to:

  • developing their analytical writing by using PEE/PEEL
  • a range of plays and poems from Shakespeare and Blake, and extracts from novels and dystopian literature.
  • Analysing evidence in detail
  • Descriptive and narrative writing skills
  • Developing technical accuracy and extending their knowledge of linguistic and structural terminology.

This is a skills-based, comprehensive resource with over 150 slides to engage and challenge students. Each lesson has a clear learning objective including analysing persuasive language, how to create effective non-literature texts such as articles and letters, technical lessons on varying accurate sentence structures and punctuation, and analysing a text to prove a point of view by using the PEEL technique.

All resources have been created by an 11+ examiner and each has challenge and extension tasks to truly stretch students.

This is an incredible resource to help prepare students for their examinations.
