Formal letter writing peer assessment and self improvement checklist

Formal letter writing peer assessment and self improvement checklist

I have attached a checklist to give pupils when they are practising their formal letter assessments. It includes SPAG, structure and DAFOREST for content. In addition to this checklist, there is also a peer assessment grid for pupils to stick in after they have completed their letter, they can then swap and mark each other on what they have included.

Silas Marner for Yr 9 SOW - Part I

Silas Marner for Yr 9 SOW - Part I

This is a resource which I have developed for Yr 9 as an introduction to 19th century text study at GCSE. The unit covers the context of Victorian society as well as the Industrial revolution and class. There are assessment opportunities for both reading and writing skills as part of the lessons and differentiation is integrated into the tasks. The scheme covers only part 1 of the novel but gives a detailed introduction to author technique, developing key reading skills as well as plot and character. The page numbers refer to the Wordsworth Classic edition of the novel.

KS4: Things Fall Apart Part 3, Chapters 20-25

These presentations are beautifully illustrated and very engaging for the students. These presentations include learning objectives, a slide outlining previous learning, a slide for key terms and critical language, a starter activity, summary and analysis questions, an academic writing task, an extension task and a plenary. All tasks try and capture the context of Nigeria by exploring customs and traditional. A great GCSE resource. Each presentation has been tested and refined in class, and revised once every academic year. This presentation also has a literacy and language focus in the starter and extension activities.
