HORIZONTAL WEEKLY PLANNER PAGES - WEEK A AND B 5 PERIODS

HORIZONTAL WEEKLY PLANNER PAGES - WEEK A AND B 5 PERIODS

This is a weekly planner page document which reads horizontally. It has 5 periods allocated and allows for tutor or AM notes at the start of the day and has a lunch/tutor space after period 4. There is also a to do list section which reads as a vertical list on the far right of the page which means if you haven’t completed all tasks on the Monday they stay visible for the rest of the week without having to rewrite lists etc. This layout has taken me years of refining as I am a bit OCD with organisation and I create my own planner myself. The beauty of this is, is that you can print on the quality of paper you prefer, it can be hole punched into a folder or you can use the ARC SYSTEM that Staples have (which I use and love) which enables you to insert, take out documents and re-insert from your planner without having ripped pages etc… I have other pages I have produced for my planners over the years for recording marks etc. and other formats and layouts so I will upload those shortly. Any feedback or requirements you leave in the comments/ reviews areas mean I can upload what is most sought after accordingly… Thanks

Student's response and reflection on their work - before the teacher marks their work

Student's response and reflection on their work - before the teacher marks their work

This can be used across the school to encourage student to reflect on their literacy development and self-editing skills. If you print two slides per 1 piece of A4 it can be easily glued in after a student has completed the work and before the teacher marks it. It is useful for ensuring students are critically assessing their own work so they become independent learners. Also, it’s good for showing progression if you’re planning on getting students to re-draft their work after you’ve marked it.

Attendance letter: Improve attendance and PA (Pupil Premium, FSM, SEN, Boys)

Attendance letter: Improve attendance and PA (Pupil Premium, FSM, SEN, Boys)

This letter is to be used every half term to give parents a snap shot of where their children currently are. This gives parents and children an emotional buy in as it compares them to their friendship group in a graphical format. The idea to present the attendance data in a graphic format helps combat the barrier of poor parental literacy levels. The letter can easily be changed into a mail merge to make the process more efficient. This letter can also be used to ‘nudge’ the top end. Resource includes: An adaptable letter A dynamic chart creater to help present your attendance data more effectively Attendance pamphlet for parents and script to be used in attendance meeting Law and legal duty on attendance This strategy in combination with attendance postcards has improved attendance in my setting by 3% since last year and PA by 13%.

The idea is that these postcards are sent home to your identified cohort every half term. The 3 Wise Monkeys

The 3 Wise Monkeys

This teaching toolkit technique called “the 3 wise monkeys” has been designed based on one of my favourite proverbs “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”. The idea is that students take on the role of the 3 monkeys: Mizaru, who sees nothing; Kikazaru, who hears nothing; and Iwazaru, who speaks nothing. It aims to promote challenge, listening skills, student interaction and peer teaching. Comes with student template to be adapted to any subject and any topic and teacher instruction sheet.

Pupil Passport: Breaking down barriers to learning (Pupil Premium, disadvantaged, Vulnerable, SEND)

Pupil Passport: Breaking down barriers to learning (Pupil Premium, disadvantaged, Vulnerable, SEND)

A successful strategy to improve pupil progress should be about identifying individual barriers to learning and then be about providing a bespoke support package to break them down. Our 360 passport does just that and provides Teachers/Senior Leaders with a deep understanding of their targeted pupils. The 360 passport also allows teachers to differentiate for the individual needs of each pupil to rapidly bolster progress. The resource includes: 360 passport template used to break down individual barriers to learning A half termly progress tracker for academic and pastoral measures to identify early slippage. Teaching and learning section External turbulence factors Individual support package Wellbeing score Mentoring templates Questions needed to ask for each section Method of how to roll the strategy out. An example profile to share (fictional data) The passport is completely adaptable so that you can apply your schools branding. The passport is also excellent evidence for Ofsted for the support you have provided for key pupils. These can also be used as a standard template for case studies.

Personalised Feedback: Reduce workload / Stretch and Challenge / AFL

This personalised feedback sheet allows you to reduce teacher workload on marking but still move pupils forward in skills, knowledge and understanding. The feedback sheet allows you to mark a full set of books in less than 30 minuets and still give personalised feedback. The resource is adaptable and allows you to replace the character with one of your own or your school crest. You print the class set off, read your books and highlight the pertinent point for each child. In a time where workload is on the up, this will win hearts and minds and more importantly save you time (to do what you really want to do… plan amazing learning experiences!) From my own experience the children also love it!

Outstanding English Lesson Hook - iPhone Character Message

Outstanding English Lesson Hook - iPhone Character Message

Get the children’s imaginations flowing with this text message generator. This PowerPoint allows you to edit text messages as if they had come from anyone. It may be a message from the Gingerbread man or the 3 little pigs. The first slide acts as if the screen isn’t in use. The next pretends to bring up ‘your iPhone’ with the message from the chosen person. When you click (works best with a clicker) the slide will look like your replying. Clicking again saying “send” will send your preprepared message. Give it 4 seconds and your character will reply without you having to press anything. (Remember to type in your reply, it doesn’t generate that part). Then repeat the process again to have a conversation as long as you want. It even has real text noises! A genuinely excellent resource that has so much flexibility. This is an excellent resource! Always thought of creating something like this. Please review and let me know what you used it for! Mr H
