Written for a year 4 class, it is easy to adapt for year 5 or 6 as there is a strong emphasis on basic grammar skills in the planning. A complete 3-week scheme of work. Exploring, writing and retelling Greek Myths. Written for lower KS2 and fully linked to the new curriculum. This is a six week unit that looks at the causes, build up and key battles of the Wars of the Roses. Written for upper Key stage 2 (but easily adapted) and is differentiated. Would be a great way to start a unit on Tudor history. Everything that you need to teach each lesson is included, including planning, resources and a PowerPoint presentation.

A complete lesson with the LO: to discover the life and work of Charles Darwin. The first half of the lesson uses a Primary source (letter) to unpick who Darwin was and to ask questions about his character and motivations. During the second half of the lesson, the students will compile a timeline of his greatest achievements and life events. All resources are included, and although extra research could be included to expand the timelines, all the information about the main events in his life, are included in the resources. A complete lesson, PowerPoint and resources for the book ’The Boy In The Striped Pyjama’s ’ By John Boyne This is a lesson that asks children to apply their understanding of the characters from the novel. This is lesson 11 in a series of 12. The whole scheme of work is available. The whole scheme includes 12 full lessons, each fully resourced, and including a detailed PPT. The scheme culminates in the class writing a short story, along a similar theme to the original text, using all of the descriptive techniques learned and developed during the series of lessons. A 4 day unit of work, written for Year 6 as part of a wider topic on the sinking of the Titanic. The unit starts, as we meet a passenger who somehow mysteriously disappeared during the voyage. The children then went on to write the account of the mysterious Mary Butts. A complete unit of art, based around the underground railroad/freedom quilt tradition. Perfect for a cross curricular topic on the Caribbean and its history (linked to the slave trade) Children learn about the underground railroad movement, its songs and also its symbolic artwork.
