This is a powerpoint which introduces pets vocabulary in German - how to ask and answer the question ‘Hast du Haustiere?’ Following the powerpoint there is a ‘Happy Families’ Card Game on the topic of pets. Simply print out the card slides and cut into cards. Full instructions are included as well as prompt / help sheets which can be printed or displayed. There are two version - the easy version requires pupils to use simple sentences such as ‘Ja, ich habe eine Katze’ or ‘Nein, ich habe keine Schlange’. German - Haustiere / Pets - Board Game and Powerpoint - Speaking and Listening

This is a speaking and listening activity for the topic of pets. A powerpoint is included, introducing the German words for pets and how to answer the question ‘Hast du Haustiere?’ There are also helpsheets provided (including plural forms). Full instructions for the game are in the presentation, including ideas for how to support, extend and differentiate. Simply print slide 4 or slide 5 (the boards) for each small group of 2 - 4 players. Laminate or print on to card for increased durability. Each group will need a dice - a template is provided within the presentation to be cut out and assembled. Players take it in turns to move around the board asking and answering questions. A fun way to practise speaking and listening skills as well as vocabulary. Going through the vocabulary and playing the game is enough for the main part of a lesson on this topic. This is also a good revision activity.

Familie introduction

Familie introduction

Workbook to introduce the topic of family. Includes examples of how to introduce family members, say their name, age and describe their character. Includes explanation of possessive adjectives and conjugations of the verbs haben, sein and heissen. Includes practice for each of the verbs and using possessive adjectives. I usually use it in conjunction with a PowerPoint that shows the grammar and allows students to practice as a class. Would also be great for a lesson cover.

I am glad to share this wonderful game with you. It is great fun for learners to actually use their language skills to describe a word and the others guessing it. ❤️ About me ❤️ Hi there 👋🏼! I´m Cindy from Leipzig, Germany. I have been a German and English teacher for more than 12 years now. And I love coffee breaks ☕️. Coffee is just great. Over the years I have realized how much my students benefit most from lessons where THEY are the leaders, where THEY are encouraged to be proactive and learn from each other. Handing over the reins to my students doesn’t make me weaker as a teacher. It makes them responsible for their own learning and is highly motivating. I don’t want my students to be sailors. I want them to be CAPTAINS! (And I want coffee!) My teaching resources are all designed to enable students to USE the language. This is why you will always find the communicative approach in my resources - even simple crosswords come with ideas for speaking activities. All of my resources have been tested in class and will be updated regularly. Please rate my resources to help me build a reputation among millions of resources. The Christmas Zombie Invasion!

The Christmas Zombie Invasion!

This is a highly entertaining Christmas lesson full of fun activities. Complete and ready to use. There’s nothing like zombies to capture the imagination of students! The lesson includes a fully explained activity where students build and fire simple catapults made from lolly (popsicle) sticks. This is done in the classroom (no need to go outside). You do NOT (not!) need to know how to build the catapult, the lesson carefully guides students so they can do it without help ! A story about an invasion of zombie Santas is told. Christmas is in jeopardy! The learners have to try to save Christmas by defeating the zombie horde and finding a cure to turn the zombies back into humans. All instructions are included and the lesson teaches the learners almost automatically, any of us can give this fun and imaginative lesson. How can we stop the zombie horde? How do we cure the zombies turning them back into people? Can your class save Christmas? The length of the lesson is very flexible depending on your needs. There are add and delete activities so the lesson can easily last anywhere between 0.5 hours and 1.5 hours depending on what you want. This lesson gets the learners out of their seats, keeps them happy, focused and engaged as they work in teams building and creating. There’s nothing like zombies to capture the imagination of students! It's a great lesson that teachers of any subject can use with all ages from 6 to 16. It won't go out of date (like a quiz might) so you can use it for years to come, which makes it excellent value at this price ! As well as being great fun and entertaining it is also educational and includes: literacy, numeracy, SMSC, team working skills, questions with answers, physical coordination skills, activities with answers, play ball game, joke telling etc High quality, ready to use lesson - great for teachers of all subjects! Happy teaching ! Barclayfox.
