Pupil Well being group full planning and resources

Pupil Well being group full planning and resources

This is a plan of 8 sessions for pupil well being. I have planned it for KS2 but could easily be adapted for KS1 or more vulnerable KS3 pupils. I have written them using some ideas from Thrive and Nurture group training and some other, wider reading (some of the happiness resources are from Relax Kids and can be downloaded for free. Everything else I have made myself). Sessions address: helpful and unhelpful thoughts, happiness, being in nature and how this helps us, having a healthy body (exercise), superheroes - celebrating being us, how our friends help us, healthy bodies (diet - cooking, including recipes) and developing imagination and increasing independence.

Who is in school today? - Visual poster for children with Autism

Who is in school today? - Visual poster for children with Autism

This poster is a simple strategy to ensure your pupils know who is in class, at home or in school. I find this product really useful for pupils with Autism who find change of staff difficult. It helps pupils to deal with anxiety of you being out of class for PPA, staff absence or change of staff. It can be used in advance to prepare the pupils for the next day/ for the afternoon etc. It also works very nicely as part of a morning group session, allowing the pupils to sign themselves or their peers in to school. Just print small photographs of each pupil and staff and add Velcro to board. Best printed in A3 for a small class. Please leave feedback and follow for more Special Education resources.

Raising Self Esteem in the Young

Raising Self Esteem in the Young

Problems resulting from low self esteem often surface during a child’s adolescent years. Clearly, however, steps can be taken much earlier in life to prevent the development of these problems. Alternatively action may need to be put in place that will assist children seen as ‘at risk’ in terms of a low self esteem. Educators and parents will recognise the signals of these ‘at risk’ children from the descriptions given in 'Raising Self Esteem in the Young' and will be able to use the activity pages to help children regain a healthy self esteem. The importance of action in the formative years is highlighted when it is realised that the feelings children hold about themselves may well determine the level of their achievements both in childhood and later life. This is a Photocopy Master ebook (51 pages) and activity pages may be photocopied for use in the classroom. Our ebooks are in pdf format. Edubooks is an imprint of Ready-Ed Publications.
