Pupil Well being group full planning and resources

Pupil Well being group full planning and resources

This is a plan of 8 sessions for pupil well being. I have planned it for KS2 but could easily be adapted for KS1 or more vulnerable KS3 pupils. I have written them using some ideas from Thrive and Nurture group training and some other, wider reading (some of the happiness resources are from Relax Kids and can be downloaded for free. Everything else I have made myself). Sessions address: helpful and unhelpful thoughts, happiness, being in nature and how this helps us, having a healthy body (exercise), superheroes - celebrating being us, how our friends help us, healthy bodies (diet - cooking, including recipes) and developing imagination and increasing independence.

Emotional intelligence - Colour your emotions

Emotional intelligence - Colour your emotions

This little worksheet is helpful for children to understand the physical symptoms of different emotions. Where do they feel their happiness? fear? anger? The children can draw the emotion face to match that emotion too. Your review would be much appreciated for this FREE resource

Raising Self Esteem in the Young

Raising Self Esteem in the Young

Problems resulting from low self esteem often surface during a child’s adolescent years. Clearly, however, steps can be taken much earlier in life to prevent the development of these problems. Alternatively action may need to be put in place that will assist children seen as ‘at risk’ in terms of a low self esteem. Educators and parents will recognise the signals of these ‘at risk’ children from the descriptions given in 'Raising Self Esteem in the Young' and will be able to use the activity pages to help children regain a healthy self esteem. The importance of action in the formative years is highlighted when it is realised that the feelings children hold about themselves may well determine the level of their achievements both in childhood and later life. This is a Photocopy Master ebook (51 pages) and activity pages may be photocopied for use in the classroom. Our ebooks are in pdf format. Edubooks is an imprint of Ready-Ed Publications. Little Chick don't want to be alone anymore; fairy-tale story for young children & parents

Little Chick don't want to be alone anymore; fairy-tale story for young children & parents

This is the little story / fairy-tale of Little Chick who hates his little and younger brother because he wants his parents just for him alone. But after a magical dream-journey with Mick this suddenly changed. After this journey Little Chick doesn't want to be alone any longer, at the end of this story. What has happened? The little boy who was so extremely jealous was circa 4 years old. This is a story for young children to read. But also meant as a contemporary tale for parents, to read their child who is perhaps jealous and don't want to share mother and father. FREE to download. written by Anneke van der Meer / translation, Anne Porcelijn

KS1 & KS2 PSHE Master Pack [Make your own PHILOSOPHY BOXES sessions!]

KS1 & KS2 PSHE Master Pack [Make your own PHILOSOPHY BOXES sessions!]

The download comprises 19 X PSHE lessons/sessions that can be used multiple times with the same group. It also contains the editable template that allows you to make your own PHILOSOPHY BOXES sessions. The method uses a selection of debate and discussion activities to explore PSHE issues for KS1 and KS2 students. This download is designed to be a significant component of any primary school’s PSHE provision. A demo of the method can be found here: https://goo.gl/DrcSqv [though the content is not relevant to PSHE, it shows how the approach works] The Philosophy Boxes Method is a new approach to P4C designed for students in KS1, 2 & 3: it is graphically stimulating, engaging, and fun. This download is also suitable for older students: but the format was designed with younger students in mind. In this context: ‘Philosophy Boxes’ represents a more student-centred ‘debate & discussion’ approach to PSHE issues. The aim of Philosophy Boxes is to bring philosophy and critical thinking into every subject at every level: we believe that any subject becomes philosophy when students are asked the right questions and when they think about a topic hard enough and on the deepest (most fundamental) level. The Philosophy Boxes Method presents students with a set of ‘mystery boxes’, when a student selects one of the boxes they are presented with 1 of 21 discussion/debate activities [that use 1 of 8 different formats]. The presentation has integrated AfL so that teachers can test knowledge at any point in the lesson. There are 10 different AfL slides to choose from. The design is colourful, animated, fun and engaging: all activities require movement and teachers can decide whether students are expressing their ideas purely verbally or by using post-it notes. The nature of the design is that it can be used for short sessions (5-10 minutes) or much longer sessions (up to 2 hours!) - it allows for classroom practitioners to be flexible and adaptable. It can, therefore, be used in lessons or as a tutor-time activity. The download includes a PowerPoint Show; if you would like an editable PPT presentation so that you can make your own ‘Philosophy Boxes’ presentation you will need to download the template here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/-the-philosophy-boxes-method-template-for-creating-your-own-philosophy-boxes-lessons-p4c-p4k-11463227 A complete selection of Philosophy Boxes lessons can be found here: https://www.tes.com/resources/search/?&q=philosophy+boxes+godwin86 This PSHE course is based around the topics listed on the BBC Bitesize Resources for KS1 & KS2 PSHE (their content can be used alongside these resources to bolster your PSHE provision, though this download does not require additional preparation or resources) [http://www.bbc.co.uk/education/subjects/zqtnvcw] Check-out some of my most popular resources: GCSE Religious Studies Buddhism (20 Lesson Unit) Buddhism (Thematic Studies Units) Christianity (Thematic Studies Units) Hinduism (20 Lesson Unit) Islam (Thematic Studies Units) .    GCSE Sociology Resources Complete Units (Whole Course) .  AS/A2 Revision Sessions OCR Religious Studies AQA Philosophy AQA Sociology .  Philosophy for Children (P4C) The Ultimate P4C Resource Pack The Debating Society Toolkit Philosophy Boxes . 5 Point Scale

5 Point Scale

This resource contains a pocket size resource for children with SEND, behavioural or social needs, to use, throughout the school day. The child can indicate at which point they feel they are at on the 5 point scale, so teachers and other students can be notified and possibly predict the upcoming behaviour of the child. This resource is autism and dyslexic friendly, as simple language is used to make it accessible for all. The use of emojis makes this resource current and engaging for children to use. The A4 version of the scale can be used to display in classrooms, which give a more detailed description of each emotion, but still SEND friendly.

Lego Therapy

This is a Lego therapy resource pack which is designed to aid any practitioner to successfully deliver a course of play sessions. The core contents of the pack can be tailored to different age groups or abilities by the practitioner. It has twenty-four different pages which contain a brief introduction and then explains each team member's role and job description. It also has visual images to aid with colours, shapes and questions that could be asked to help the children engage and communicate with each other. There is also a tracker sheet which is great for following each child as they develop or it highlights if they need additional support. Lastly, the practitioner should have basic knowledge of play therapy and if not this pack could further develop their own personal skill set. I hope this pack is received well and for added usage just laminate, and most of all HAVE FUN.
