Individual Lesson Objective booklet

Individual Lesson Objective booklet

This is a professional, well put together booklet for learners to fill out during a lesson. Each session learners are to give themselves an objective and state what they plan to achieve. The booklet has an example, some ideas of what they could write and words they could use. This document gives learners a target as well as stretch and challenge tasks. This booklet will also show progression over 1 to 36 weeks. It is to the point and easy to fill in. I use this for a particular group of Carpentry learners that do not have a training booklet or any other proof of progression. Ideal for OFSTED and observations.

Year 3 Grammar Precision Teaching

Year 3 Grammar Precision Teaching

A series of 17 Precision Teaching resources based on Year 3 grammar objectives, with a few Year 2 objectives to recap. Every day, we spend 5/10 minutes looking at the new rule, then do a mini test each day - the same objective and same test for the whole week. The children try to improve either their score or their time every day. Sometimes, we then do another mini-test the following week to see if they have retained the information. The resources include a mixture of powerpoints or SMART notebooks to introduce the objective, along with test papers. We have seen a marked improvement in the children applying the grammar into their independent writing.

Whole Class Feedback Template

Whole Class Feedback Template

This template allows for quick and insightful feedback to be given to students in line with the Ofsted feedback policy, Whole class feedback allows teachers to give general or specific feedback depending on how the template is used, pick up general misconeptions or grammatical errors buy highlighting multiple students, or give priase to individual students for their succeses. “Ofsted does not expect to see a particular frequency or quantity of work in pupils’ books or folders. Ofsted recognises that the amount of work in books and folders will depend on the subject being studied and the age and ability of the pupils. Ofsted recognises that marking and feedback to pupils, both written and oral, are important aspects of assessment. However, Ofsted does not expect to see any specific frequency, type or volume of marking and feedback; these are for the school to decide through its assessment policy. Marking and feedback should be consistent with that policy, which may cater for different subjects and different age groups of pupils in different ways, in order to be effective and efficient in promoting learning. While inspectors will consider how written and oral feedback is used to promote learning, Ofsted does not expect to see any written record of oral feedback provided to pupils by teachers. If it is necessary for inspectors to identify marking as an area for improvement for a school, they will pay careful attention to the way recommendations are written to ensure that these do not drive unnecessary workload for teachers.”
