GERMAN VOCABULARY REFERENCE LIST - PARTS OF THE BODY

GERMAN VOCABULARY REFERENCE LIST - PARTS OF THE BODY

PERFECT FOR SUPPORTING LEARNING IN YOUR CLASSROOM! Create an instant reference resource for students focusing on essential GERMAN vocabulary. The lists work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. This resource looks at language in the vocabulary group ‘PARTS OF THE BODY’. There are 25 words in the list, which is more than students will need at the beginning stages of their GERMAN learning, but does give a comprehensive overview of the vocabulary they are likely to need in the next few years. There are two alphabetical lists - one GERMAN-ENGLISH, and one ENGLISH-GERMAN, as I’ve found that students prefer to have both, particularly at the beginning of a particular topic or theme. I’ve also included plurals where appropriate, as I think giving students every opportunity to familiarise themselves with the concept of ‘plural’ in GERMAN, and how nouns may or may not change, is really useful in both the short and longer-term. These lists are a useful complementary resource to other reference lists in the series, but are a useful standalone resource too. VIEL SPAß BEIM LERNEN!

PERFECT FOR DEVELOPING LANGUAGE SKILLS AND PRACTISING AND REVISING GERMAN VOCABULARY - 99 ESSENTIAL WORDS AND PHRASES FOR BEGINNING GERMAN LEARNERS! This set of games and activities really do help students to develop and embed their beginning GERMAN vocabulary in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way. They’re ideal for independent learning, and perfect for pair and small-group work. Students can quiz/test themselves and each other on a regular basis - they're a very popular alternative to more traditional vocabulary 'drilling tasks', and really do help to create a lively language learning environment. This set features 99 BEGINNING WORDS AND PHRASES that students are likely to meet in the INTRODUCTORY stages of their GERMAN learning: - Begrüßungen (2) - die Farben - der Körper/die Körperteile - die Zahlen 21-40 - das Wetter - Deutsch im Klassenzimmer (2) - Fragen und Antworten (2) I've described the resource as suitable for ages 11-14, but it does depend on the age at which your students begin GERMAN - the games and activities work well with any appropriate learning group, depending on their starting point. There are two non-editable files in a zipped format: FILE 1: GERMAN and ENGLISH game cards, with all the words and phrases to use in a variety of games and activities - I've suggested a range of games and activities that have worked well for me. This file also includes the game card template, which encourages your students to apply their developing knowledge of GERMAN practically and creatively. FILE 2 - this is an 18-page REFERENCE, RECALL & WRITE booklet. All the words and phrases are listed GERMAN-ENGLISH in language categories, and there are 3 differentiated RECALL & WRITE activities to help your students really practise and review the vocabulary: CHILLOUT CHALLENGE: students write from memory all the words and phrases in ENGLISH from a GERMAN prompt - all the words/phrases are in their language category CHAMPION CHALLENGE: students write from memory all the words and phrases in GERMAN from an ENGLISH prompt - again, all the words and phrases are in their language category SUPERCHARGED CHALLENGE: all the words and phrases appear in random order, and switch from GERMAN to ENGLISH at each question - this really does put students' memories to the test! German logic puzzle

A German logic puzzle with answer. My year tens enjoyed doing this at the end of a lesson. My native speaker colleague was keen to point out that clocks don't have hands in German but that they are called 'Zeiger'!

Body Parts: German Vocabulary Card Sort

Body Parts: German Vocabulary Card Sort

This is a card sort to help students learn the parts of the body (40 words in total). This would be a useful task with younger groups or low ability groups. There are three separate files, depending on how you want to present the task. - The 'teacher copy' shows a grid with all items already matched. - The 'student version' is a random layout, print this out and give to students. They can then cut out the items and match them, or stick them into their workbooks. - The 'quick cut' is designed so that you can produce 10 packs of cards quickly and easily using a guillotine. Each page has the same card 10 times over. This allows you to remove words that may not be suitable or needed.
