PRIMARY LATIN FRUITS BINGO LATIN FRUITS BINGO GAMES 100 DIFFERENTIATED BINGO GRIDS AND 40 CALLING CARDS Bingo games are perfect for language learning, and they’re really easy to differentiate. All my students, regardless of age, find playing the games a great way of consolidating their vocab, and developing their Latin language skills in general - bingo is absolutely perfect for speaking, listening, reading and writing/spelling. In this set I’ve included 100 differentiated bingo grids and 40 calling cards - 20 in Latin, and 20 in English - I always play with English calling cards too, as I’ve found it’s a really great way of further consolidating vocab - students have to focus carefully on the language ‘switch’! It’s definitely useful to have calling cards, so that you can keep track of what you’re calling out, and it also lets students be the bingo master or mistress too, meaning they can play quite independently. There are twelve Latin fruits in masculine, feminine, neuter, singular & plural: the apple the lemon the oranges the peach the raspberries the pineapple the olive the pear the bananas the grapes the strawberry the watermelon I differentiate my bingo games by using picture-only cards, which are great for general vocab consolidation and listening skills. There are 40 9-square grids in total, and there’s a set of color (which I sometimes laminate so that I can just get them out whenever I need to - make sure students have wipe-clean pens on their tables!). I’ve also included the same grids in black and white - simply print these out. I sometimes give out pages with four grids on, and let students choose which order they play the grids in - they have multiple pages - or sometimes, I get the students to cut out the grids, place them in a small bowl or similar on tables and they then randomly choose grids - depending on the size of your class, you will definitely have several winners per game! The grids are designed for all the squares to be crossed off in order to win the game. I also use word-only grids to help students focus more on their reading skills, so I’ve included 40 Latin word-only 9-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages). The mixed word and picture grids are ideal for additional challenge and differentiated - there are 20 of these. There are six non-editable files in a zipped format. GERMAN EUROPE COUNTRIES & CAPITALS QUIZ

GERMAN EUROPE COUNTRIES & CAPITAL CITIES QUIZ European countries & capitals multiple-choice quizzes in German are great games, suitable for any age range, at any time! The aim is to give students opportunity to engage happily and confidently with both the spoken and written word in German, identify cognates and near-cognates, and read out loud in German from the very beginning of their learning. They are a real multi-skill activity, helping students develop their German speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. At the same time, Students can develop their knowledge of the geography of Europe in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, giving their memory a real workout! Revisit regularly - can students beat their own record? We play them as a whole-group team quiz, and my students also like to play them in pairs or small groups. The set contains all European countries & capitals, including some island communities such as the Faroe Islands and Guernsey. Each question has 3 answers to choose from. The correct answer is given in CAPITAL LETTERS, to ensure that all students can participate — they really enjoy being the quiz master! The quiz cards are numbered, but I prefer to ask in random order: we simply place all the cards in a bowl, box or tin, and work our way through - awarding extra points for perfect pronunciation! There are two quiz challenges - Challenge 1 gives the country as a prompt, with three possible capital cities to choose from. Challenge 2 gives the capital city as a prompt, with three possible countries to choose from. The quiz card templates allow students to apply both their German and their knowledge very practically: they can create their own set of multiple-choice questions for each other. My students like this reference sheet - not only as prep for the quizzes, but as a ‘forever’ resource too - download it for free here: Referenzliste: Europaïsche Länder und Hauptstädte https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-europe-countries-and-capital-cities-12133858 I always laminate my learning cards, as they’re far more user-friendly, and last for absolutely years! I like the color background, and each challenge has a different background design, but I’ve also included the quizzes with no background, so that you can keep prep costs to a minimum. FRENCH COLOURS FLASHCARDS POSTERS

PRIMARY FRENCH KS2 FRENCH KS3 FRENCH COLOURS POSTERS FLASHCARDS These French colours flashcards / posters create an instant introduction to a range of colours in French in the classroom. The posters definitely give the learning environment a fabulous French look and feel, promoting French as a living language, featuring in the everyday life of learners. They introduce learners to colours in French from the very beginning of their learning, and they are able to familiarize themselves with both the ‘look’ of French words, and how sounds are represented in the written form. Use them as flashcards to introduce and practise language too - it’s a traditional and successful low-tech teaching method, which gives students a welcome break from the whiteboard - varying teaching methodologies in the language learning classroom is always a good idea, and I also encourage my students to take the role of the teacher too, which they find really motivating. The key colours are: black; blue; brown (both brun and marron); cream (both crème and vanilla); green; grey; navy blue; orange; bright pink; pink; purple; red; turquoise; white; yellow. There’s also a poster / flashcards showing the French Flag. There are two backgrounds to choose from: French Flag (Tricolore) and black wave, each set has 18 posters/flashcards, so 36 in total. It doesn’t matter if some of the colours don’t feature in your immediate or even longer-term learning plan: the posters provide learners with daily opportunities to engage with the written word in French, to develop their recognition and recall of individual words, to identify cognates, and to begin to link spelling with sound in French. Laminate the flashcards / posters if possible, or print on card stock, particularly if you’re going to use them as flashcards to introduce and practice language too: they’ll hang really nicely, stay in good shape, and you’ll be able to use your colors posters for many years to come! Have a browse in my store for more French flashcards / posters, and a wide range of other teaching and learning resources, special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES ACTIVITIES WORKSHEETS European countries, capital cities and flags label and colour worksheets provide great learning opportunities for any appropriate age group, at any time of the school year, and are definitely the perfect activity for consolidating knowledge of these countries and flags - students definitely really enjoy testing their memory and colouring the flags! Students can develop their knowledge of Europe, its countries, capital cities and flags, independently of the teacher. There are 60 European countries included - there may be a number of countries and capital cities that students do not know, or are not aware of, so the worksheets help them fully develop their general awareness, knowledge and understanding of Europe and the wider world. There is a country, capital city and flag reference list of all countries and capitals, which students find useful to read through before working on the sheets - I laminate these, and one list per small group of 5-6 students is sufficient. It can also be used as a year-round reference resource, which students can file in their workbooks or learning folders. Laminate the cards and reference sheets if you can - you will be able to use them for years to come. There are four sets of worksheets, each with six pages: Set 1: color flags, students label with country and capital city Set 2: blank flags, students label country and capital city, and color the flags - a number of flags look very similar on these worksheets, which helps students recall all the countries in Europe, and their flags Set 3: blank flags, country is given, students label capital city, and color the flags Set 4: blank flags, capital city is given, students label country, and color the flags Please note this is the European Day of Languages version of European Flags Label & Colour which is also available in my Geography World Continents collection - please ensure you have not already purchased that version Files are non-editable in a zipped format. SPANISH CHRISTMAS WORD SEARCHES #1

(0)
PRIMARY SPANISH KS3 SPANISH CHRISTMAS WORD SEARCHES Sopas de letras are a fabulous way of encouraging students to engage with the written word in Spanish, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This set features ten differentiated word searches, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. It focuses on 33 Spanish Christmas words, which I also use as a prompt to stimulate discussion about Spanish Christmas practices and customs, and we talk about what students know about other Christmas traditions around the world. The nouns feature masculine and feminine, singular and plural and both definite and indefinite articles, which is a great way of working on and consolidating those grammatical concepts too. There are 5 Spanish to Spanish grids, where students are prompted with the Spanish words, and look for them in Spanish in the grid. For additional consolidation, each grid also features an English word list that they have to complete, really putting their knowledge to the test! There are also 5 English to Spanish grids, where the prompt words are given in English, and learners have to find the Spanish equivalent in the grid. For additional consolidation and practice in writing and spelling in Spanish, they also complete the Spanish word list on each page. Students can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on each grid. There is an answer key for each word search, so that students can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. Answer keys are absolutely essential for me, as they provide students with an additional opportunity to engage with language, help them develop more independence in their learning. There’s a Spanish-English Christmas vocabulary reference sheet - you can either laminate this to share around small groups of students, or give one to each student to stick into their learning workbooks as a general reference resource. Students will have to look carefully at some of the words they’re looking for, as they may appear slightly differently - for example, they may have to find the gifts and work out what that is in Spanish - only the prompt the gift appears in the reference list. Have a browse in my store for more Spanish Christmas activities, and a wide range of other Spanish teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! SPANISH DAYS OF THE WEEK WORD SEARCHES

(0)
PRIMARY SPANISH YEAR 7 SPANISH KS3 SPANISH DAYS OF THE WEEK Word searches are a great way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word in Spanish, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. These are ten differentiated word searches focusing on the days of the week in Spanish. My students really enjoy practising their vocabulary with word searches. They like to work independently, either alone, in pairs or in small groups, challenging themselves (and each other!) to progress through the challenges. Word searches are easily differentiated: there are five Spanish to Spanish grids, with the Spanish words as prompts. Students then find them in Spanish in the grid. A great way of really consolidating vocab is to get students to complete the word list on the grid sheet too. There are also five English to Spanish grids. With these, the prompt words are in English, so students have to know the correct Spanish word in order to find it in the grid. There’s a word list to complete on these too. As the challenge increases, the words appear in an increasing number of different directions, and students can identify which directions they’re looking for by referring to the arrow key on each grid. My students always like to have answer keys, and I really find these an integral and essential element of the learning activity. They enable students to self and peer-assess, and they actually work as a further opportunity for them to engage with the vocabulary. The word searches are in landscape format, mirroring the direction of reading from left to right in both Spanish and English, and in my experience, this is really useful for young beginner Spanish learners, as they begin to familiarize themselves with the written word in Spanish. I use the word searches regularly - as starters, refreshers, plenaries, fun-time fillers or activities for cover lessons, at any time during the school year, as well as when I’m introducing days of the week in Spanish. Try this Spanish fruits word search freebie - you’ll be able to see whether the word searches will work well with your learners: SPANISH FRUITS WORD SEARCH FREEBIE https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/primary-spanish-fruits-word-search-freebie-12498663 Have a browse in my store for more Spanish word searches, and a wide range of other Spanish teaching & learning materials, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too. ITALIAN ARE VERBS CONDITIONAL TENSE

(1)
GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN A LEVEL ITALIAN CONDITIONAL TENSE 25 ITALIAN -ARE VERBS My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. There are 150 conjugations across 3 differentiated conjugation challenges. I use these kinds of workbooks in lots of different ways: for practice during the introduction phase, for independent choice in class time, for home learning, for practice and revision during vacation and at return to class, and for cover lessons - they’re really versatile, and ideal for KS4 Italian students who are moving on to more complex texts tenses in Italian, and for KS5 Italian A Level Italian students as revision. The workbook focuses on formation and conjugation, rather than usage, though it’s definitely useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb formation and conjugation. For example, students do often try to conflate what they know about conjugation in their first language, and the language they are learning, and those with English as a first language frequently look for a word that is the equivalent of would, until they familiarise themselves with the fact that the notion of conditional is indicated in the verb ending. I see this a lot with the future tense too, and tend to introduce both tenses quite closely together. It’s also easy to confuse the future tense endings with the conditional tense endings, and targeted practice helps to address that really well. The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Italian-English and English-Italian. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in Italian across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Italian, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in Italian. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding Italian verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps template which students visit regularly - it really does encourage them to think about where they are now, how confident they feel, and what they might need to work on a little more to be absolutely sure of their conjugation skills. answer key The product is non-editable in a zipped format. SPANISH PRESENT TENSE CONJUGATION PRACTICE

(0)
GCSE SPANISH KS3 SPANISH KS4 SPANISH PRESENT TENSE VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE 25 high-frequency Spanish verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys ideal for KS3 Spanish students who are beginning to work with compound sentences and longer texts, and generally developing their knowledge and understanding of conjugation and tense in Spanish. My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. The workbook focuses on the correct conjugation of verbs, rather than usage, but I definitely find it useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb conjugation. For example, with the Spanish present tense, I encourage students to look for patterns across all the verbs, such as the singular pronouns, including for example the singular formal pronoun Usted form being identical, which is fairly standard, but the conjugation of the formal singular Usted does frequently lead to errors at this stage of learning. The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Spanish-English and English-Spanish, useful for longer-term reference too Three differentiated conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in Spanish across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Spanish, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in Spanish. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding Spanish verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from a Spanish prompt. KS3 FRENCH KS4 FRENCH GCSE FRENCH IMPERFECT TENSE CONJUGATION PRACTICE FOCUSING ON 25 HIGH-FREQUENCY FRENCH VERBS My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. There are 150 conjugations across 3 differentiated conjugation challenges with a full answer key and verb lists. Though the workbook focuses solely on the correct conjugation of verbs, and does not look at word order in the context of full sentences, there are fixed conjugation patterns that students can learn, recognize and apply, ensuring that their spoken and written French is accurate, and that their understanding of French across the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing is robust. Students become very familiar and confident the more they work with conjugation, and these quick conjugations certainly help to embed that successfully. GERMAN REFLEXIVE VERBS PLUPERFECT TENSE

(0)
GCSE GERMAN ALEVEL GERMAN KS5 GERMAN PLUPERFECT TENSE 25 high-frequency German reflexive verbs, including a selection of some not essentially reflexive, such as sich kaufen to practise the dative reflexive pronoun, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated conjugation challenges, answer key & verbs lists, ideal for advanced KS4 German and KS5 German students who have a sound baseline understanding of conjugation and tense in German, are working regularly with the notion of past tense in German, and distinguishing between verbs that are conjugated with either haben or sein in the perfect and pluperfect tense. It’s actually really useful to introduce the pluperfect tense in German fairly closely with the perfect tense, as the patterns are identical, other than the auxiliary tense, and it allows students to compare and contrast the tenses, and to practise both fairly simultaneously - in my experience, students do not confuse or mix up the tenses when they’re learning and using them together. The workbook focuses on the correct conjugation of verbs, rather than usage, but I find it useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb conjugation. For example with the pluperfect tense, students need to have a good grasp of the relevant auxiliary in the, and to get used to ensuring that the past participle is situated at the end of the clause or sentence. Forming the past participle of a whole range of verb groups follows a certain pattern, which students are able to identify and predict the more they work with conjugation. The resource has the following structure: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: German-English and English-German. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in German across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. GCSE FRENCH KS3 FRENCH KS4 FRENCH SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE 25 high-frequency verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys, verb lists This ten-page workbook is really popular with my students - they like to work independently, practicing and revising how to conjugate French verbs, and it’s a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. GERMAN VERBS BOOK #1

(0)
GCSE GERMAN KS4 GERMAN KS5 GERMAN VERBS 500 high-frequency German verbs, listed alphabetically both German-English and English-German - a great learning support resource for KS4 German moving into advanced German A Level learners, and can also be given to KS3 German students, providing verb audit tool, and a language road map with learning goals, outlining the verbs they should ideally know by a specific stage in their learning. I create a lot of language learning reference books for my languages students, they’re really popular with my students, who like to have a bank of reference resources for both initial learning and longer-term revision. There are 42 pages in the book, and all 500 verbs are listed alphabetically German-English and English-German. Each German verb is indicated by irr; sein; sep for example, to denote irregular, conjugated with sein, separable. I use the reference book for quick vocabulary quizzes too - either I or a nominated student shouts out a German or English verb, with teams giving the corresponding German or English verb - I’ve found this is a really successful way of avoiding more formal vocabulary tests, while still providing students with frequent opportunity to refresh and embed essential German vocabulary. For UK teachers, these are roughly GCSE / Standard / age 16 examinations moving into advanced level, all examination boards (AQA, Edexcel, Eduqas, SQA). We use the Notes and Next Steps template to think about progress and vocabulary knowledge. Students find this really useful, and do like to map and track their own progress. It can be helpful in guiding and informing whole-group discussion about learning and progress in general, which is a really useful learning activity too - students also note down any new German verbs they learn, enabling them to build a really comprehensive verb vocabulary reference resource. The verbs are useful for engaging with the following topics and themes: youth, identity & lifestyle fashion culture, customs and traditions relationships and family technology and social media sport, health and fitness free time, hobbies and interests entertainment and leisure food and drink Germany and German-speaking countries local, national & international global areas of interest transport holidays, tourism and travel environment, pollution, recycling and climate social issues school, college, current and future study work experience, skills and personal qualities employment, ambitions and career plans Files are non-editable in a zipped format. FRENCH TELLING TIME I HAVE WHO HAS #1

TELLING TIME IN FRENCH FRENCH TELLING TIME GREAT GAMES FOR DEVELOPING LANGUAGE SKILLS AND PRACTISING HOW TO TELL THE TIME IN FRENCH! The repetitive nature of the questions and answers, supported by the visual prompt of the clock faces, makes these games perfect for practising, reinforcing and refreshing how to TELL THE TIME IN FRENCH - O’CLOCK, HALF PAST, QUARTER TO AND QUARTER PAST THE HOUR. It’s a whole-group communicative game, with a multi-skill focus on speaking, listening, reading, vocabulary-building and developing accurate pronunciation. The game really does help to create a lively language learning environment, and is a great alternative to more traditional ‘drilling’ activities. Students benefit from the differentiated challenges: CHALLENGE ONE with the clock times in numerical order CHALLENGE TWO with the clock times in topsy-turvy order, which really encourages students to focus on their FRENCH clock times! When they have created their time lines, preferably using a timer for a little competitive edge, have them read the times out in their best FRENCH accent for some additional reinforcement and pronunciation practice! There are four cards with eight clock faces per page, which I’ve found to be the ideal size for students learning to tell the time, and with the multi-skill practice the games facilitate. There are two non-editable files in a zipped format; please read the TERMS OF USE carefully - this resource is copyright, all rights reserved. The cards feature language and structures that my students generally meet in the advanced beginner Spanish of their Spanish programme, including a range of tenses. The reference book includes all the questions and answers written out in Spanish. It’s an essential learning support resources for my students, who use it as a general writing frame to guide and inform their own creative writing. It’s really useful for mini-translation, whole-group pronunciation and reading-out loud practice too. We use the notes and next steps template to reflect on learning, what we might reasonably do to progress learning, and to inform and support whole-group discussion about learning in general. The question and answer writing card templates give students a great opportunity to apply Spanish practically and creatively, as they put together both questions and answers for each other. This is a great team activity too, and really popular with my students. The cards are really versatile, and work well in lots of different learning contexts, such as***independent learning time, home learning, revision and exam prep, and cover lessons***. GERMAN REGULAR VERBS PERFECT TENSE

GCSE GERMAN KS3 GERMAN KS4 GERMAN PERFECT TENSE REGULAR VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE This workbook focuses on 25 high-frequency regular verbs in the perfect tense. I’ve used these ‘quick conjugations’ for many years with my German students. My students find them to be a great way of practising, reinforcing and revising how to conjugate essential verbs in German. I’ve used them in a range of contexts such as independent work either in class time or at home, holiday refresher work, or individual activities for cover lessons. I tend to give my students regular opportunities to practise the conjugations during the whole schools year, and they find this really useful for mapping their own progress and developing their overall understanding of how German conjugation ‘works’. I find it useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb conjugation. For example with the German perfect tense, students need to have a good grasp of the relevant auxiliary in the present tense - there are verbs that require either haben or sein, and to get used to ensuring that the past participle is situated at the end of the clause or sentence. Forming the past participle of a whole range of verb groups follows a certain pattern, which students are able to identify and predict the more they work with conjugation, and these quick conjugations will certainly help to embed that successfully. The workbook is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: German-English and English-German Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in German across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in German, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in German. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding German verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes & Next Steps template, which encourages students to think about how their understanding of German conjugation works, what progress they have made, what their targets for improvement might realistically be, and what they might reasonably do in order to meet those targets. answer key which helps students develop more independence in their learning, also providing them with an additional opportunity to engage with the target language Files are non-editable files in a zipped format. GERMAN PHONICS PRONUNCIATION SPELLING #1

KS3 KS4 GERMAN RHYMING WORDS CARDS PHONICS PRONUNCIATION SPELLING PRACTICE - 99 WORDS FOCUSING ON PHONICS, SOUNDS AND RHYMES - CARDS AND WHOLE-GROUP PRONUNCIATION PRACTICE There are 99 cards featuring a range of sounds in German, and a whole-group presentation and practice resource. We revisit the activities frequently to help students develop *phonic awareness *and a thorough understanding of how German spelling and sounds work. I’ve found that students are quickly able to recognize sound patterns, enabling them to predict the pronunciation of new words accurately. The whole-group presentations are non-editable for copyright reasons, but move forward via a click as a slide show, with all the rhymes and corresponding sounds grouped together - I often use these at the beginning of the lesson, or a 5-minute pronunciation and speaking break during a lesson, again at very regular intervals. I always encourage students to look carefully at all parts of a particular word, not just the focus sound: for example erreicht - the focus sound is ei, but the ch sound is equally important. The resource works well for my German students at all stages of learning, from beginner to advanced. We use the card template for students to add corresponding sounds / rhymes that they know, or learn, over time. I allocate 10-15 minutes frequently to focus on pronunciation and sounds - this really does help students develop authentic *German *pronunciation. Laminate the cards if possible - they are far more learner-friendly, and will remain in excellent condition for years. I’ve included a set without a background, as that is not as expensive to prep as the colour - I do create colour-coded sets for my students when I can, as it helps them to identify different resources, but they are fine without color too.
