This resource covers the topics of laws of indices & surds. There are four revision foldables, each foldable requires students to state the law involved. The four foldables are; Basic Laws of Indices; pupils state the laws for multiplying, dividing, powers, and power of 0. Negative & Fractional Laws of Indices ; state the results of negative and fractional indices, and combined in terms of a and y Laws of Surds ; state the laws of surds for multiplying, dividing, factorising and squaring. Rationalising the denominator; simple denominator and conjugate pair, one of each in terms of a, b and c and second in numbers as examples. Foldables can be used as a revision or summary exercise at the end of a topic and also make an excellent revision resource. As the answers are hidden pupils can use these to ‘test’ themselves or ask someone else such as a parent to test them. In this math art activity pupils need to identify the gradient (slope US) of a function, rearrangng where necessary from the implicit function to y=mx+c and hence identify the gradient. Pupils then shade all the squares with those answers in the colour stated. As a result pupils will have a picture of an Easter chick. There are** three different worksheets** of increasing difficultly, they are; Worksheet 1: There are 14 questions on finding the gradient from functions where Q1-14 the functions are already in the form y=mx+b (or mx+b=y) and one final question which requires rearranging to get the form y=mx+b Worksheet 2: There are 14 questions, the first 5 pupils find the gradient of functions already in the form y=mx+b and then the remaining questions they must rearrange with the last few giving fractions. Worksheet 3: There are 14 questions and pupils will need to rearrange them all. There are two versions of each worksheet, either condensed to one page as shown in the cover photo, or questions and colour grid split into two pages to give you the flexibility of just doing the questions on the worksheet before any colouring.
