Taboo Game - School

Taboo Game - School

This PPT game is good to practise and improve English speaking skills. Divide the class into 3 teams. Ask one student from each team to sit facing away from the screen. Team 1 starts the game. They have to choose a number on slide 2. If you click on the number, it will take you to a new slide. The students in Team 1 must describe the given word, WITHOUT saying the taboo words. The student from Team 1 (who is sitting in “the hot chair” facing away from the screen) has to guess the word in 20 seconds. If the word is correct, Team 1 wins 10 points. Then it’s Team 2’s turn. Then it’s Team 3’s turn. You can write the points in the boxes on slide 2. In the next round you can ask new students to come and sit in the “hot chairs” facing away from the screen. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Nativity Crackers (A Christmas Musical Nativity Play for KS1)

Nativity Crackers (A Christmas Musical Nativity Play for KS1)

A delightful Nativity Play with a modern day twist. An enlightened Parish Priest determined to make parishioners focus on the real meaning of Christmas hands each family a box of Christmas Crackers as they leave Midnight Mass. These are the 'Nativity Crackers' and each riddle and gift reveals something about the Christmas Story. As the crackers are pulled and the message dawns on the family, they freeze frame and we are transported back in time to the events of the first Christmas Story. The children, staff and parents of two Hertfordshire schools loved this play. The songs in a variety of styles offer much scope for actions, dance and solos and the script can be adapted to suit your needs.

Hansel and Gretel class assembly / play

Hansel and Gretel class assembly / play

Based on the traditional children's story, this version of Hansel and Gretel is perfect for a class assembly or short play. Running between 12-15 minutes, the play retells the story using humour and music and, although ideally suited for lower KS2, could easily be made to work with older or younger groups. All songs come with backing tracks and lead sheets for rehearsal or performance and are original. Due to the nature of school assemblies and productions, purchasers are free to change any aspect of the work to suit their needs for performance within their own school or institution. If you enjoy this production, please leave feedback and if you would like to see other stories produced then let me know!
