SATs Revision sheets for Maths - Year 6

I created these sheets to help my year 6 have a little reminder about some of the topics that we have covered for SATs. I use them as a morning starter whilst taking the register.

My children like them, and it gives them a chance to request help in areas that they may have forgotten or not understood.

Topics covered: Multiplying/dividing fractions with a whole number, Place value, parts of a circle, decimals, angles on a straight line, fractions of a whole number, area of quadrilateral, area of a triangle, missing number, multiples, money problems, number sequences, guess the number, percentages, proportion, adding/subtracting decimals, measuring jugs and reading measurement scales.

Year 6, Guided Reading, SATs style text and questions, Fiction.

Hi all,

Here is a short story with a set of SATs style questions.

You can use this as a guided reading, teacher lead session or as a simple SATs style revision where the children work in silence and you go through it afterwards - it’s up to you.

It’s also completely editable so you can add/change questions if you want to make it harder or easier. I have tried to add a range of questions so all children can achieve something.

I haven’t included answers as I think it’s fairly self-explanatory. There are 20 marks to be had I think, so I guess 20 to 30 minutes to read it and answer the questions?!

Please review this for me as it takes ages to create these AND I can make changes to make it better for other people to use.

'Are you a grammar mastermind?' revision for Year 6 SATs (game, poster, revision cards)

All of the grammar terms that children will need for Year 6 SATs gathered together on...

1.) Revision cards: print these off double-sided and laminate. Children can then work in pairs to see how many of the terms they know, ticking or crossing the terms with a whiteboard pen to identify the terms they still need to learn. I would recommend the 'aligned' versions are the term and definition print back-to-back.

2.) 'Are you a grammar mastermind?' game: print this onto A3 and use with a dice. Children need to define the grammar term or give examples in order to make it to the finish.

3.) 'Are you a grammar mastermind?' poster: print this onto A3 for your display. It also works as an answer sheet to the game.

Grammar includes: nouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, pronouns, subjunctive form/mood, antonyms, synonyms, adverbials, direct and indirect speech, relative pronouns, prepositions, determiners, contractions, dashes, parenthesis, hyphens, expanded noun phrases, past and present progressive, modal verbs, possessive apostrophes, main and subordinate clauses, statements, questions, exclamations and commands, subject and object, suffic and prefix, relative clauses, colons, co-ordinating and subordinating conjunctions, active and passive voice, past, present and future tense, omission and punctuating bullet points.

KS2 SATS 2016 - Reading Comprehension - Fox on the Run

Fox on the Run has been written especially for our short reading comprehension.
This paper is out of 25 marks (the Reading SATS being out of 50) and is designed to give children a taster into what a reading comprehension is like, only taking a shorter period of time.

The questions are the same at SATS questioning and allow children to show their understanding at both text and word level.

This is a great resource to use when introducing reading comprehension or perhaps as an additional activity for children who have finished their work.

The test takes 30 minutes.

Last Minute Maths Reasoning Paper 2019 SATS Revision. Year 6 - KS2.

A flip chart and SATS style question paper based on both reasoning papers (paper 2 and paper 3) .

Created by a year six teacher (97% maths at and above expected pass rate last year), maths coordinator and deputy head. Used on the afternoon before the 2018 maths SATS tests and updated in 2019.

The flip chart allows the teacher to model the mathematics concept with a SATS style question and then gives the pupil the opportunity to use and apply what they have just seen.

This is designed specifically for revision purposes as I have found my class sometimes fail to retain certain mathematical methods or struggle to use what they know to figure out what they don’t.
