Morning song!

Morning song!

I noticed my children were coming into my class in a morning fairly tired, so I decided to create something to help them wake up and bring a smile to their faces. This is sung every morning and the class love it! I have had parents speak to me explaining their child won't stop singing it at home and they love it! I feel as though this is a great idea for every class as it does get the children ready to learn! More songs will be made for each half term.

Introduction to Books and Reading Bundle (ESOL/ESL/EAL/EFL)

Introduction to Books and Reading Bundle (ESOL/ESL/EAL/EFL)

This is the perfect bundle to introduce the library at your school or college and encourage learners to start reading on a regular basis. These resources allow learners to identify the English terms for different parts of books, get to know their school/college/local library and then set about a regular reading habit recording their reading and reviewing what they read. Designed for ESOL learners this is a resource I use every year to ensure learners get into the habit of reading in English in order to progress their language skills.

Book Terms and Meanings Cut Out and Matching Activity (ESOL/EAL/ESL/EFL/Literacy/SLD)

Book Terms and Meanings Cut Out and Matching Activity (ESOL/EAL/ESL/EFL/Literacy/SLD)

A fun matching activity in 3 styles. Match the terms about books (author, blurb, index etc) to their meanings either by using the colour or black and white cut out cards (designed in a random order to let the students do the cutting without getting the answers!) or on a standard worksheet where they just draw a line between the terms and their meanings. Written for entry level ESOL or literacy learners as a starter for a lesson on reading, books or types of text, I find it works well as an introduction to books when starting on library work, books reviews or reading schemes, If you'd like more reading based activities check out my other reading resources in my shop here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/islaflood
