The words reflect the phonics content in the current national curriculum, and include multi-syllable words and the more unusual graphemes which have appeared on previous papers such as oe, au, e-e, ore, ie and ue. This resource consists of spelling lists for reception to year 6. The lists are also presented in a precision teaching grid format. To make this resource, I referred to the common exception word lists in the National Curriculum which consist of combined word lists for years 3 and 4 and for years 5 and 6. I separated these by difficulty to create lists for each year group. The words for reception to year 2 are from the National Literacy Strategy.
