Famous Landmarks Factfile Activity

This activity pack is made up of 8 famous landmarks from around the world. They are the Taj Mahal, Easter Island Maoi, Eiffel Tower, Statues of Liberty, St Basil’s Cathedral, Pyramid of Giza and the Sydney Opera House.

Each landmark is titled and has a colour photo. There are two landmarks per A4 page. The aim of the activity is for children (individual or groups) to locate the landmark on a map or Google Earth, and then research it online and complete the fact file.

The fact file contains the following:
What is it? Continent, country, date completed, age, height (m), visitors each year and a larger section for any further interesting facts at the end.

The document is fully editable, so you can change parts to suit your needs.

Extra: I usually buy 3D puzzles of these landmarks for the children to build. They then use string and pins to link the model and fact file to the location on a world map. Alternatively you could have them build a model of the landmark from recycled materials or even have them create an sketch or artistic impression of the building.
