There are 25-high frequency German verbs in this perfect tense quick conjugation workbook, which is structured as follows:
Two alphabetical verb reference lists: German-English and English-German.
Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual present tense conjugations:
Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation.
Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in German, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation.
Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding German verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt.
The focus is on a range of German verb groups in the perfect tense: modals, regular, irregular and separable verbs. These kinds of workbooks are very popular with my students, who find them really useful for practice and revision. I always have a stock of workbooks in files, so that students have instant access to them. They often select the conjugation workbooks to work on during free-choice class time, or to take home, particularly approaching exam time - they’re great for revision. They’re also useful for cover lessons, holiday practice and revision work and similar.
We use the Notes and Next Steps page to map progress, and to note ideas for improvement. It’s also a great place to note any additional high-frequency verbs that students learn, and this helps to build up a really strong verb vocab bank.
The second file is a 6-page answer key in book form - giving students answer keys is essential in my opinion, as it helps them develop more independence in their learning, it gives them an additional opportunity to engage with the conjugations, and they actually really enjoy reviewing each others’ work in particular!
Have a look at this free quick conjugation exemplar, which will give you a good idea of how the workbooks are structured, and if they’re going to work well with your students:
