GERMAN SPEAKING CONVERSATION PRACTICE PERFECT FOR DEVELOPING SPEAKING SKILLS IN GERMAN - QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS WITH A FOCUS ON BEGINNING / GENERAL CONVERSATION & CULTURAL INFORMATION - 200 QUESTION & ANSWER CARDS WITH REFERENCE BOOKS
These 200 German conversation / speaking practice question and answer prompt cards that give students structured talk opportunities, and will also get them listening, reading and writing. As their confidence and competence develop, they rely less on the prompts, and begin to produce language creatively. They’re ideal for independent learning, and perfect for pair and small-group work. These sets focus on beginning conversation, with a flavor of cultural and geographical knowledge in Set 2.
The prompt cards also feature language and structures that students are likely to meet in the beginning and more intermediate stages of their German learning, including a range of tenses - I encourage my students to ‘unpick’ the grammar when they create their new questions and answers, as this works as a kind of writing/reference frame for them, and helps them use the structures practically.
The Reference Books include all the questions and answers written out in full in German. My students find these very useful learning support resources and they’re also handy whole-group pronunciation practice and reading-out loud resources. They also use them as writing frames to help guide their own creative writing as they create new questions and answers for each other. We use the Notes and Next Steps template to reflect on learning, and think about what students might reasonably do to progress in their learning. We also use it to guide and inform whole-group discussion abut learning and progress in general, which is a really useful and popular activity.
The Question and Answer Card Templates give students the opportunity to apply their German very practically, as they create both questions and answers for each other. This is a great team activity too.
