Write a Diary Entry with #GoogleExpeditions

Take your students on a journey through Borneo Rainforest! This lesson has been tailored to appeal to younger groups, particularly Y3 and Y4 (however it can be adjusted to make it easier/harder). Students will come face-to-face with a range of different animals in the rainforest. The main aim of the lesson is to encourage creative writing and prepare students to write a diary entry about their experience . As you take students through each of the different scenes, use the worksheet to test whether students are paying attention along the way.

Once you have completed the expedition, have a class discussion to come up with some adjectives for describing what the rainforest is like. Students can then use this list to help them with their diary entry! Remember to print out copies of the blank diary entry for students to use!

The lesson plan contains the following content:

1. Lesson plan
2. Worksheet to be completed during the expedition
3. Blank Diary entry with prompts
4. Blank Diary entry without prompts
