Year 1 Science curriculum coverage breakdown.

The powerpoint is a booklet that has the National Curriculum requirements for year 1. It is broken down into sections, e.g plants, everyday materials etc, and within each section are a list of resources, useful websites and experiments that are specifically linked to the working scientifically and the knowledge based requirements for that year group. It’s a useful guide for teachers as it explains what content needs to be covered throughout the year, with ways to support the children learning this content through experiments.
Included, is also a useful assessment tool. The ‘Working Scientifically Tree’ is a way of showing that the children are meeting these requirements.The children colour in an apple each time they work scientifically.
