Tolerance Character Education (PowerPoint, Task Cards, Printables, Posters)

Tolerance Character Education (PowerPoint, Task Cards, Printables, Posters)

This Tolerance unit is a crucial element for strengthening the core curriculum and ensuring our students are taught how to be tolerant towards others so that they can not only learn to live harmoniously with others but so that our differences can be celebrated! Product includes: • 16 slides of Tolerance PowerPoint - fully structured so no prior experience is required to deliver it. The text is also editable for you to modify as needed! • 9 pages of Tolerance Printables - graphic organizers go perfectly with the PowerPoint if you want your students to record their thoughts as you discuss. There is also a fun bonus homework included! They are in a PowerPoint format so they can easily be converted to Google Slides for paperless activities if preferred. • 24 unique discussion cards to develop speaking and listening skills. Your students will learn: • how to define tolerance • how to analyse their own and others' tolerance • where they might need to demonstrate tolerance • signs of tolerance • signs of intolerance • what can affect tolerance • self-awareness of their own tolerance • actionable steps to develop tolerance In order to ensure these important skills can be integrated into our busy timetables, this resource has been designed to make it as easy to deliver as possible! It includes a structured PowerPoint that guides the class through discussions about tolerance and effective skills on how to be tolerant towards others. No prior knowledge or experience from you is required! On top of this, the PowerPoint text is editable so you can modify the content to suit your students’ needs, should you wish. Also included are bonus graphic organizers which are supplementary to the PowerPoint: they’re not a requirement, but they work as a helpful tool for students to record their thoughts in an aesthetically pleasing way that can then be used for bulletin board displays etc. You will also find a set of discussion task cards to spark conversation and thoughts on tolerance: these can be printed off for each group of students, or they can be used in whole class discussion – it is up to you! So help build your students' tolerance and encourage them to be all that you know they can be! Great for Character Education, Social Skills, Tutor Time Activities, Life skills and PSHE (Physical, Social, Health, Education) lessons.

A Growth Mindset Task Cards Activity for Self Management Skills

A Growth Mindset Task Cards Activity for Self Management Skills

Encourage a growth mindset by helping children to think positively, be flexible and provide them with problem-solving strategies and solutions that help them to cope with the myriad of situations and emotions that life presents with these fun task cards focusing on self management. These printable task cards are a terrific way to actively practise the growth mindset directly within the IB PYP Self Management skills. The task cards can be used in a variety of ways that encourage the children to reflect and think positively of themselves and others in various social settings that are easily relatable to them. They are asked to reflect on social situations that present doubt, possible antagonism, confidence issues and other difficulties. As you help the children with these social skills in a safe, familiar environment, it will greatly benefit them throughout school and particularly as they approach the IB PYP Exhibition. A great review activity! Differentiated for 3rd-5th grade. The green cards are more challenging text. UK and USA spelling. Suggestions: Whole class - sitting in circle, each child will have a card to read aloud and then share their opinion. These can be discussed as you go around the circle. Small groups- Place a pile of cards face down in the middle of the group. Each person will take a turn to read a card, act out or offer their opinion and then those can be discussed within the group. Independent work - Each child can work with a few cards and write or draw how they would solve the social problems presented on the task cards. You will find 32 task cards ready to print and go. You can find many more tools for implementing the IB PYP within my store and on my blog. You may like my posters explaining the Transdisciplinary Skills . There are separate sets for big kids and also for younger kids. Enjoy! Susan Powers www.PYPteachingtools.com
