This is designed for Year 7 but can be altered for any year group / ability. Covers an introduction to magnets, the main magnetic metals and leads the students through discovering and drawing magnetic fields. Creative task to help students practise literacy and justification skills

This was delivered to both top and bottom set year 7's. It allowed them to understand the formation of salts during the reactions of acids and alkali. Gives worked examples for naming salts during word equations. Can be tiered to making symbol equations for higher performing students. Worksheet included as a revision guide for all acid reactions.

Designed for my top set but can be altered for lower ability. Contains animations to assist student understanding of lung expansion and bloodflow. Includes research activity into the functioning of the lungs and structural adaptations of the alveoli. Contains practise past exam questions for plenary

This lesson is designed for Year 7 and can be delivered to any ability group. Recaps on reading the pH scale. Links to defining what a neutral solution is and what a neutralisation reaction is. Higher level students can be pushed by trying to assign chemical symbols to reactions. Real life application of neutralisation reactions is delivered. Leads to a simple practical for the students to develop their skills and see how to balance acids / alkali. Exam style questions for plenary.

Delivered to KS4 class but can be altered for any ability. Discusses different ways of preventing heat loss. Leads students through researching different ways to reduce heat loss and enables comparisons. Practice style question and answer for writing about conduction.

Designed for year 7 as a recap on pH scale and introduction to other indicators. Introduces litmus paper to students. Table included is designed to help them apply their understanding of colour change and interpreting results. Method for creating red cabbage indicator. Alternative slides prepared depending on whether you want to provide hot water or allow students to use Bunsen burners to boil water themselves. Plenary is past paper question.

This lesson is used to help students to understand the importance of safety in the lab. It introduces risk assessments and guides them through creating their own.
