Introduction is a recap on resultant forces. Allows students to become confident with drawing ‘triangles of forces’ for diagonal resultant forces (animated answers to show the relevant forces) Shows how ‘alternate angles’ are used to help calculate angles. Delivered to KS4 for the 'Atomic structure and Radiation' section of the AQA specification. Recaps the structure of the atom in detail including charges and relative mass. Allows the students to define isotopes and link them to mass numbers. Discusses the formation of ions and how they are formed for atoms to become stable (linking nicely to radiation later in the topic) Worksheets are attached for assessing learning at either point as preferred. This lesson was delivered to both KS3 and KS4. The 3 stages of distillation are shown clearly and slowly using a full animation. Particles travel and clearly show the stages of evaporation and condensation. Chromatography is covered, again animated, showing how substances are separated by using a solvent and how to explain the results. This leads to worked examples of calculating Rf values.( As a extension another animation shows how ethanol and water are separated based on boiling point. Questions activity with answers provided for summary. Plenary is exam style questions, with answers.

Designed to be delivered to KS4 groups. This continues from discussing parallel forces and explains to students how to calculate what forces occur when an object is on a slope. Using the example of a trolley on a hill the students are lead step by step through the different forces and how to draw a triangle of forces. From this they are given worked examples and then a differentiated task to determine confidence levels. Ends with a dicussion about forces acting in different directions.

Animations of gametes seperating allows the learners to follow the step by step process of how genes are inherted. Worksheets provided (differentiated) to allow students to attempt to calculate probability of children gaining eye colour. Introduces heterozygous and homozygous genes in context. This resource allows the students to be introduced to the concepts of allotropes. It guides them through researching 4 different allotropes (diamond, nano-tubes, fullerene and graphite) to compare structure and properties. Each is followed by a guided explanation of each allotrope. For alternative method their is a guided worksheet provided that works excellently with lower ability students. The next material introduced is silicon dioxide and this is explained and compared to diamond to enable the students to develop their ability to compare and explain. Finishes with a past paper question and model answer. QR codes are provided leading to BBC bitesize.
