KillelayKillelay

Electrolysis of molten compounds

(0)
A fully differentiated resource for electrolysis of molten ionic compounds, including Higher tier content section around half equations & then practice papers .
Metabolism
KillelayKillelay

Metabolism

(0)
An AQA 9-1 lesson including powerpoint & differentiated past paper tasks on Metabolism. Links back to previous topics of Respiration & photosynthesis, and focuses lower ability students on being independent & finding their own resources (from their book notes) to complete some tasks. Fully differentiated & structured for a Foundation set or crossover set. Suitable for higher ability Y8/9 group.
Cell division in sexual reproduction (Meiosis)

Cell division in sexual reproduction (Meiosis)

(0)
AQA 9-1 GCSE lesson on cell division in sexual reproduction. Lesson is tailored for low ability students, targets 1-3 but could easily be adapted to stretch further. Lesson is fully differentiated, and is progress driven by outcomes, we WAGOLL, MWB tasks, self assessment & plenty more AFL.
Reactivity, Displacement & Redox
KillelayKillelay

Reactivity, Displacement & Redox

(0)
A lesson on reactivity, displacement and redox reactions for a high ability Y10 Chemistry set. The directed self study is available through chemsheets, but as I am not copyright holder for the resources I can not share these here, but I can highly recommend you subscribe to them, or get your dept to do so! Lesson is highly challenging and pace is at the centre of this lesson.
Metallic bonding & structure + Alloys
KillelayKillelay

Metallic bonding & structure + Alloys

(0)
A full lesson on metallic bonding, structure & alloys. Features video links, RAG questioning, lots of AfL opportunities throughout and is fully outcome driven for progress. GCSE 9-1 AQA spec
Continuous & discontinuous variation
KillelayKillelay

Continuous & discontinuous variation

(0)
Practical based pair of lessons on cont/discontinuous variation aimed at KS3 or low ability/ recap for KS4. Includes PPQs for each lesson too. Focus on method writing/graph drawing etc.
Human impact on the environment

Human impact on the environment

(0)
An active lesson aimed at KS3 or lower ability KS4 on the impact of human activity on the environment. This download includes Presentation - including fully differentiated tasks, starters, hwk activity and stretch/challenge. Fact file activity including all sheets (feel free to add more) Red/Amber/Green & Challenge exam style Qs on the topic.
DNA
KillelayKillelay

DNA

(1)
A KS3 resource, in this instance was delivered to a mixed ability year 8 group. The lesson covers DNA in a good amount of detail, without going into the unneeded complexities of base pairing, the technical naming of structures etc. May be a good resource to revise DNA with low ability KS4 exam groups also. Students will explore the work of Watson & Crick, before considering the use of DNA and prior learning covered on cells which don’t fit the pattern in terms of DNA or chromosomes. Students will visit the idea of mutations, and consider what they are, using a simple letter replacement game (they can design their own after seeing the example (challenge). Finally followed by some past question practice (GCSE AO1)> `This lesson is fully differentiated, with extension and challenge throughout’
Making Salts Required Practical

Making Salts Required Practical

(0)
A resource, mainly comprising of the practical workbook, but with leveled outcomes & starter/plenay slides also. This covers Making Salts required practical from AQA Chem/Combined trilogy.
Inheritance, Variation & Evolution Scheme of Work
KillelayKillelay

Inheritance, Variation & Evolution Scheme of Work

(0)
This resource contains the entire scheme of work for AQA 9-1 Inheritance, Variation & Evolution. Each lesson is complete, with powerpoints, extensions and separate past paper questions. There is a large variety of AFL tasks/ differentiation and activity styles included, as well as suggested homeworks. This is one of the most comprehensive resource bundles of it’s kind available, and is easily adapted to fit your own timelines, or to fit other exam boards. Lessons are titled as follows. How are plants & animals adapted to reproduce? How do cells in the body replicate? How do sex cells replicate, and lead to variation? What is the human genome? How is the structure of DNA linked to protein synthesis (Bio only) Why do offpring share characteristics with their parents? What are mutations (Bio) & inherited disorders? How is sex determined, and how can we represent this? (mendel- Bio only) What is, and what causes variation? What is evolution & what evidence do we have for this? What is the theory of evolution & speciation ( bio only) How do fossils help us learn about evolution & extinction? How do we classify similar organisms? What is selective breeding? What is genetic engineering? How does cloning take place? (Bio only) What is the impact of antibiotic resistance?
Neutralisation, pH & Strong and weak acids

Neutralisation, pH & Strong and weak acids

(0)
A fully resourced lesson which can include practical, or the use of a video/simulator to replace that, should you not be able to do the prac. The lesson recaps key making salts content in form of knowledge retrieval quiz & DIRT, before moving onto key terminology recaps and reference to Ionic equations to describe acids and alkali, and comparing strong to concentrated. The lesson lends itself to carrying out a titration and producing a pH curve from this. There are then past paper questions to complete and self assess
