Year 7 back to school. French KS3 beginners. Je me présente. Je m’appelle. Mon anniversaire, c’est le… In this bundle, you will find: 3 lessons to teach your French beginner’s class. (Year 7) Lesson 1: learning how to greet in French Lesson 2: introducing myself and learning French numbers Lesson 3: learning how to talk about my birthday Each lesson comes with a .doc booklet and a PowerPoint with answers included to make your life easier. Each lesson builds onto the previous ones to enhance prior knowledge and help students retain vocabulary. Sentence builders are key elements of each lesson. You could use them to introduce new vocabulary and do fun activities with them. Do not hesitate to contact me on Facebook if you need some help. I made sure to use a wide range of activities for the four skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing. There are no listening tracks. I wrote the transcripts (which are included in the PowerPoint) and I usually either record myself or read it at loud. I hope this will work well for you. They can start working with the sentence builders with ENG & FR translations (choral repetition, dictations, trapdoor activities, etc.) Then, you could give them the same sentence builders without the EN translations and do some more work on it. To finish, there are sentences for them to translate. They could do some from memory. Pupils should also be pushed to make their own sentences / come up with their own examples I hope this helps. French GCSE listening worksheet. Listening revision. Listening practice. This worksheet focuses on the holiday topic. It includes a variety of activities that are all scaffolded to lead towards an exam style question. Matching-up activity :vocabulary extracted from the listening transcript. This should be done before playing the listening. This will help your students brainstorm vocabulary and focus on key words they need to be wary of, whilst working on the listening recording. True false activity: sentences include synonyms of words from the transcript to help students focus on the meaning of the whole sentences. Complete sentences : iGCSE exam style question. This activity usually uses synonyms instead of words extracted from the transcript. Fill in the gaps - transcript : This could be given to weaker students to do the matching-up activity or used as a plenary. Ma famille, my family lessons. C’est quoi une famille ? In this bundle, you will find three complete lessons to introduce family members and to be able to describe them (personality + physical descriptions). Students will also be taught/shown how to use “not” in French. Here is more information regarding lessons with PowerPoints you will find in my shop: Each lesson comes with a .doc booklet and a PowerPoint with answers included to make your life easier. Each lesson builds onto the previous ones to enhance prior knowledge and help students retain vocabulary. Sentence builders are key elements of each lesson. You could use them to introduce new vocabulary and do fun activities with them. Do not hesitate to contact me on Facebook if you need some help. I made sure to use a wide range of activities for the four skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing. There are no listening tracks. You might want to edit/tweak the starter activity I created as it is usually linked to previous topics to reactivate prior knowledge. It contains questions they may not have seen already but that they should be able to answer without many prompts as they are quite easy. It is accompanied with different A* / complex structures. It is composed of scaffolded activities including pre-reading tasks, a vocabulary search, grammar tasks, a reading task, exam style questions and translations.
